Recycling at Home Depot

Did you know?
This store helps divert waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot sold to Trex last year. This is used to manufacture composite decking, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
LED lights in your local store helped save on energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours last year. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like solar and wind.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to our communities and the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn More.

How do I lessen window draftiness?
When your windows have a lot of condensation, frost, or mold, you likely need to replace or reseal them. If you can't put in new ones immediately, seal them up tight with caulk, weather stripping, or a window insulation kit. Use mold and mildew removers first, and wear a respirator to avoid inhaling it. Fill any other gaps with foam tape and cover window a/c units too to keep the warm air inside and the chill out. These steps should help stop the draftiness until you can replace the windows.
What projects can I work on when it's cold outside?
In colder climates, it's challenging to work out in the elements. However, cleaning up the yard before spring gives the earth time to resettle before plants start growing again. A few days organizing the basement, shed, or garage will pay off when spring comes. If your tools and gardening supplies are all set, tackle cleaning the rest of the house. Get out the cleaning supplies and cleaning tools, then give everything a good scrub.
How can chainsaws help with yard and tree cleanup?
When the weather warms, clean up garden debris and unwanted shrub branches. A Homelite chainsaw can help this job go quicker than it would be by hand. Check that the chain is sharpened, oiled, properly tensioned, and all the safety mechanisms are working on your electric or gas chainsaw. Then once you've refreshed your chainsaw knowledge, get to chopping off fallen branches, shaping bushes, and cutting out tangled vines and weeds.
Are Kids Workshops offered at the Covington Home Depot?
Yes, the Covington store offers in-person Kids Workshops. These free in-store events take place every first Saturday of the month between 9am and noon. Registration for kids workshops is now available online and secures your spot at the event. Keep little doers engaged with a new kit pack for each event. Included in the kits are all necessary craft materials, as well as instructions, stickers, an apron pin, a certificate of achievement, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Paint and all other required tools are provided at the event. Customers who prefer not to participate in the in-person event can pick up their free kit in-store or order online at our Kids Projects Activities page to have it shipped to their home. Visit our customer service counter or call us to check availability of the kits.
How do I check my Home Depot gift card balance?
Home Depot gift cards are a popular choice for birthdays, housewarming parties, and the holidays. DIYers know they're fun to receive and to give. You can buy gift cards at our brick-and-mortar stores or online at homedepot.com. If you're a recipient, you can check your gift card balance online or visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you. Use our gift cards to shop online or redeem them in-store, all with no additional fees.
Does my store offer curbside pickup?
Yes, we deliver curbside. Order online for store pickup daily until 6 p.m. Here's how:
  1. Shop Online and choose the "Store Pickup" option on the product page or in your cart.
  2. After your order is processed, you'll get an email or text letting you know that it's ready for pick up.

All I can say worst experience of my life..took 45 mins to place an order. Then when it arrives its damaged. The replacement was damaged. Has to BUY SECOND ONE to get the replacement. Then HAS TO WAIT 5 DAYS FOR JUST A REFUND RECEIPT..AND HASNT HIT MY BANK. They sure can deduct it fast but getting a refund I HAD TO CALL..
    Excellent customer service
After being told by one store that the product was no longer available, I was told that I had to go to the Covington store for a refund. Once at the Covington store, the customer service rep did indeed refund the purchase, but pressed farther making sure that I did not need the product. When she realized that it was vital to our work, she got her manager involved. They actually had the product, and helped me remake the purchase, and refunded the delivery charge, as I was there to pick it up. It was then loaded into my truck. The people involved literally "saved the day". Their professionalism really shined.

Great products, associates and easy shopping
I visited this Home Depot today and had a great experience. The store was clean with lots of merchandise. An associate went out of her way to help this lost girl find the sandpaper I was looking for. It’s so good to see today that there are good employees. Big shout out to this Home Deport. I totally recommend this location to my friends.

Waited over an hour from them to unlock a wheelbarrow- made me and the customer late!
