How do I lessen window draftiness?
When your windows have a lot of condensation, frost, or mold, that's a clue that you need to replace or reseal them. If you can't put in new ones immediately, seal them up tight with caulk, weather stripping, or a window insulation kit. Clean any mold and mildew first, and wear a respirator to avoid inhaling it. Fill any other gaps with foam tape and cover window a/c units as well to keep the warm air inside and the chill out. These steps should help stop the draftiness until you can replace the windows.

What projects can I work on when the weather's cold?
In colder climates, it's challenging to work outdoors. However, cleaning up the yard before spring gives the earth time to resettle before plants start growing again. A few days cleaning the garage or shed will pay off when the weather warms. You won't have to replace lost hand tools with new ones because you can find what you've got. Polish up the tools, clean the rest of the house with cleaning tools, and you'll be ready when spring has sprung.

How can chainsaws help with yard and tree cleanup?
When the weather warms with the spring air, clean up garden debris and unwanted shrub branches. A Dewalt chainsaw can help this job go quicker than it would be by hand. Check that the chain is oiled, sharpened, properly tensioned, and all the safety mechanisms are functional on your electric or gas chainsaw. Then once you've refreshed your chainsaw knowledge, get to chopping off fallen branches, shaping bushes, and cutting out tangled weeds and underbrush.

Best Customer Service!!
We purchased 25 bags of Quikrete concrete mix. Once mixed and poured into forms it was apparent that this lot of concrete was defective; too much rock and not enough “Portland” to hold rocks together. I called the Dahlonega store at 4pm. My husband bet me that there would not be a manager available. Wrong! The phone was answered on the second ring by MIKE who is the Operations Manager. He offered me a full refund for 25 bags of concrete and 3 bottles of cement color that was used but purchased in Dawsonville Home Depot. GREAT GUY AND WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!

    Mixed Review
Purchased 35 bags of RED Vigro mulch on this trip (35 on previous trip.) Only one check out open in the garden center so check out took forever BUT there was numerous young employees outside that were assigned to load product. They were quick, efficient, courteous and just overall a delight. This was the best organized HD garden center I have been to. The product however was very poor quality. Half of the mulch was red, part was brown, part had sat in water so long it was rotten. I feel the the negative comments should be directed to home office or VIGRO not this individual store. Poor product. Can't put it back in the bag and take it back. Would I recommend store -YES absolutely!!! Would I recommend product -NO!!!

Sadly, my Home Depot seems to be “going corporate.”
When I first moved to the North Georgia mountains, I referred to “my” Home Depot as “my second home.” Going there sometimes several times a week, I was always treated with respect. I knew the manager and people who worked at the Pro Desk and they went to great lengths for me frequently. As a real estate investor, I have spent most of my budget in that store. However, over the past couple of years, I’ve noticed a sharp decline in customer service. The store has tightened its rules and grip at a time in our history when the exact opposite is needed. It no longer feels like my community store. It feels like a giant corporation took over and their number one priority is profit no matter what. I hope that things will change. I remember taking my children to their Saturday workshops. I remember attending one myself on creating a tile backsplash. I loved being there. And my kids did too. Here’s hoping HD goes back to putting the customer first.

            Ed great help in Appliances
Went to buy a washer and Ed helped me gather all the info needed on 4 or 5 washes. This helped me make an informed decision. He was patient, cheerful and glad to answer questions. Made some helpful comments about a dryer I purchased in January 22. Other employees in passing were polite and friendly . I purchased an LG washer.
