I have good experiences with the employees here and never had a problem with either returning a product or exchanging for another. I am a veteran & they always have thanked me, even if they are a veteran themselves. They have earned my respect.

I have been shopping at the Ellicott City, MD & Columbia, MD Home Depot for years. I have always had great experiences with their employees. I admit sometimes it is hard to find a worker right when you need one, but when you do they seem truly interested in helping. But finding employees is always a problem with any major chain store, not just Home Depot. Although I have always managed to find employees here. I have walked out of Lowe's stores just because it was like a ghost town in there. If I can't find anyone that let's me know that they are either hiding from the customer or the store is managed wrong.

So far only one part time employee named Nicole got my full attention., Home Depot needs more employees like her with a lot of enthusiasm to help customers. This does not mean that others are far behind. I like to come back to this store because I know most of the employees and also familiar with available products and the location.

After spending well over an hour in the store and collecting over $700 worth of merchandise in a FULL cart, I went to check out. There were no registers open at the main checkouts except for the self checkout. I was directed to go to the contractor checkout if I did not want to use the self checkout. There was only one register open at the contractor checkout and a long line of people purchasing lumber. I ended up checking myself out, lifting heavy items out of the cart to scan on the table scanner because the self checkouts do not have the hand held scanners. After speaking with the MOD, he was of no help either and infuriated me further with his poor demeaning attitude.

Come to this store quite often since it is close to my house. Store is always clean, staff always available and very very helpful.

Tried to purchase a gas grill. Couldn't find an associate to assist. Finally asked the air conditioner guy who told me to stand in the online order pickup area. Waited there 45 minutes. Associate charged my credit card but failed to tell me that there were none in stock. She took a phone call while I stood there waiting for her to tell me the next step. After completing that call, she called to get a guy to come from the back who seemed to genuinely want to help. But his handheld tablet or phone said there were 0 in stock. He spent about 25-30 minutes checking shelves, checking the back, and making phone calls. During this time, another Home Depot employee wanted him to stop helping me and do something else. The other guy kept scowling at me. I finally decide to give up and get my money back, since I was definitely not getting the grill I paid for. I stood in the returns line for another 20 minutes. That associate told me I should call other stores first before she would give me a refund. I almost lost it at that point, but instead I pointed out that I've been in the store for about 2 hours with nothing to show but a $700 credit card charge, and that I just wanted my refund so I could get home. She then told me that $700 is a lot of money and she had to see if somebody would actually approve the credit to my card. Luckily, she got approval and I left. With no grill. On Father's Day weekend.

Excellent service makes the shopping experience GREAT. In such a large store you really do need to have help and the staff at this store go above and beyond. The check-out is also fast and easy with associates always there to help...if you hit a snag.

The workers at the Ellicott City Paint department are awesome! I had questions, they answered them. I got all the tools I needed to paint the family room. It took one coat. Everything I was given made the job EASY!

THE BATHROOMS COULD BE MUCH MORE CLEANER. SCOTT HELPED ME WHEN I NEEDED ASSISTANCE WITH MY SHOPING.

Home Depot overall service from he minute you are 'welcomed at the front entrance' to the 'cashier' is true a very nice experience - and also HD have significantly improved upon their overall service (i.e. product line, and friendliness of staff) over the past year. So much improved - will not got to any other hardware store. Guaranteed !!!! Also have expressed my opinion about HD to all my contractors.

Great place to visit, I feel like I live there sometimes! Had a great, short check out experience on the first sunny day, which was also a Saturday, in over two weeks!

Associate helped me through my questions on purchase of the item I wanted and used a lot of commonsense, was very polite and helpful.
