Small orders arrive in a car for a $3 fee, medium orders utilize our vans at a $35 fee, and large orders will ship to you via flatbed or box truck for a $79 fee.
Can I get my mulch order loaded into my truck?
Yes, you can pick up your own mulch. Even better, we're ready to help if you need it. After you purchase mulch online with store pickup or buy it in-store, go to the mulch loading zone or drive-thru if your store has one. One of our associates will load your small-to-medium mulch order into your truck or SUV. For very large orders of bagged mulch or bulk mulch, delivery is a wise choice.
Does my mulch get delivered in a car or van instead of a truck?
If you have a small bagged mulch order, you can get it delivered to your door via a store-fulfilled local delivery service that uses third-party drivers. Your mulch will arrive in a regular van or car for just a $3 delivery fee. Loose mulch orders, also called bulk or yard mulch, will come in a truck. If you order a specific number of bags, you may get free delivery. That threshold varies from store to store. However, you'll be able to verify the cost at checkout.
How much mulch qualifies for flatbed or large truck delivery?
When you're ordering huge quantities of bulk yard mulch or pallets of bagged mulch, you'll qualify for box truck or flatbed delivery. Often, these are serious DIYers, landscapers, or Pro customers working on a major landscaping project. There's a minimum pallet order to maximize resources and usually a delivery fee. Orders that pass a threshold may qualify for free delivery.
What should I do about weeds in my garden?
Weeds might start peeking through in the garden beds, even if you put down mulch or landscape fabric to keep them at bay. Be sure to get them before the weeds' flowers dry out and drop their seeds. Pull weeds from the root in vegetable or edible flower gardens, and dig up the roots if the weeds snap off at ground level. Set Up For Summertime
As summer stretches on, your garden and landscaping will weather more sun than earlier in the year. That means you'll need to consider how to keep things cool. Just like we can get sunburned, plants can dry out, grass can get scorched, and trees can lose their leaves too early. We've got advice to help you, your garden, and your lawn make it through the hotter months with flying colors.
Lawn Repair and Patching
Burnt, or scorched, grass has an oddly shaped discoloration that looks yellow. It happens when plastic or metal sits on the grass and bakes in the sunlight, or a reflective surface shines continuously on your lawn. You'll discover it once you move something sitting out in the yard, like a trash can or sprinkler. Car windows or mirrors can also scorch grass when the sun angle is just right.
Water scorched grass well and wait a week or so. You should see the signs of life returning by then. If it's damaged by pet urine or otherwise unsalvageable, you must use patch and repair seed to fix it up or replace the grass.
Whether you’re doing upkeep on your current lawn or patching the bare spots, keep in mind which type of grass it is and tailor your lawn care to it. Match the grass type to how much sun your lawn gets — or to the existing grass type if you're doing patch repair. For example, if your lawn is shaded by trees and gets dappled sun or partial shade, make sure you plant grass that's not meant for full sun.
