Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting plastic plant pots, CFLs, lead acid batteries, and rechargeable batteries for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
LED lights in your local store saved on energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives such as wind and solar.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers. This commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment, as well as our communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our eco actions.

Are there real Christmas trees for people with allergies?
If you're set on buying a living Christmas tree, the eastern white pine tends to be easier on people who have allergies. However, it depends on what they're allergic to and how severe their reactions are. When pine allergies are the culprit, try a spruce, cypress, or fir. Wash your tree with a hose and dry it off with a wet/dry vac before bringing it inside if possible, and find details on how to choose the best real Christmas tree for you. As any live tree might aggravate allergies for some people, you may want to get an artificial Christmas tree instead.
What tailgating gear do you carry?

Shop online now on our mobile app or drop by in person to see some tailgating gear at the store.
Does my local Home Depot still offer Kids Workshops?
Our free Kids Workshops take place in-store every first Saturday of the month between 9am and noon. Registration for kids workshops is now available online and secures your spot at the event. Any required tools, such as paint, are provided at the workshop. Kits may be ordered online at our Kids Projects Activities page or picked up in-store if you prefer to participate in the workshop from home.
