Recycling at Home Depot

Did you know?

This store helps divert waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.

This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot sold to Trex last year. This is used to manufacture composite decking, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.

Why is my door drafty?
If you have cold air seeping in under the door, you'll want to fix it to keep your house warm while preventing your heating bills from skyrocketing. When a house settles unevenly, pieces that once fit snugly can go off-kilter. Gaps can form around the sides of doors or the thresholds may loosen with time. Fill the space with weather stripping or foam tape, and caulk any cracks in the wooden door frame. If you're still feeling drafts around the door, place an insulated fabric door snake along the ground.

When can I use my Blackstone grill or griddle again?
Wintertime temps put a damper on outdoor dining and grilling. When the weather warms up, bring out the grill to warm things up even more. Enjoy a spring evening out on the patio, grilling stone fruit, vegetables, meat, or even pizza. A Blackstone griddle makes it easy to flip and char your food just right. Blackstone flat top grills are the solution whenever you want to grill a delicious and savory meal.

How do I prepare for snow and freezing temperatures?
When you live in an area where snow is possible, it's smart to upgrade or organize your snow removal equipment before a storm hits. Check that the snow blower is working and accessible, then oil up the snow shovels. Remember to get out the sleds for the kids, and prep ice melt or salt and a salt spreader. Ensure your outdoor spigots are covered and drained, too, with all hoses disconnected. Basic preparations like these keep you ready for whatever winter weather comes your way.

Does the Irvington Home Depot still offer Kids Workshops?
Our free Kids Workshops take place in-store every first Saturday of the month between 9am and noon. You may secure your Kids Workshop kit by registering online for the event. We have a new kit pack every month to keep your little doer engaged. Kits include all necessary craft materials, kit instructions, certificate of achievement, stickers, an apron pin, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Any required tools, such as paint, are provided at the workshop. Kits may be ordered online at our Kids Projects Activities page or picked up in-store if you prefer to participate in the workshop from home. Call us or visit our customer service counter to check the availability of the kits.

How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Gift cards to The Home Depot are a popular present during the holiday season or for any occasion. DIYers know these gift cards are fun to give and to receive. You can buy gift cards online at homedepot.com or in our brick-and-mortar stores. If you're a recipient, you can check your gift card balance online or visit the Irvington Home Depot and ask a cashier to check the balance for you. Use our gift cards to shop online or redeem them in-store. There are no additional fees to worry about.

Excellent Helpful Friendly Staff & Clean in the Store & Parking
RAMSEZ volunteered to help me take my large purchase to my car. He had to get creative in helping me load my items. I never could’ve gotten all my items in my car w/o his help. I would’ve had to make two trips which would’ve taken me almost 2 hours total. He was so cheerful in helping me! A couple weeks ago Isaac helped me in the pvc department. I ran into an issue and he gave me an idea that worked right away. The cashier staff has always been very helpful and friendly at this location. I appreciate the security officer on site keeping customers safe. There’s been a lot of effort lately to keep this area clean and nice and it’s greatly appreciated!

    Great location, but very unkept.
Employees should take pride in their store. Why not have the employees take responsibility for keeping their area clean and stocked?

          Military Discount not honored
Over time, Home Depot has made it difficult to receive a well deserved 10% Military Discount. You can't get the discount at check-out anymore. Home Depot insists on registering your personal information on an application, (app). Of course, we all know what they do with that information. With Home Depot's refusal to accept a valid alternative identification of military service, it's easy to take my business elsewhere.

Lumber at the Irvington store. Jonathan gives excellent service
Jonathan in lumber, had good suggestions to solve my lumber needs. He was knowledgeable, efficient and Home Depot should be proud to have him on their staff.

The worst managed Home Depot I have ever visited
There were absolutely no shopping carts available. Storel Manager Logan tripp made himself unavailable. His assistant told me to look around in the store, maybe someone abandoned one. The worst managed store I have ever visited.
