Kickoff your next home improvement project with confidence and the correct tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Lander fill in the gaps in your toolbelt with the tools you don't have at home. Rent what you need and return it when you're done. If you need to add those tools in your toolbox permanently, inquire about buying our retired rental tools. The retired rental tools are discounted compared to the new items in our aisles.
When renting pneumatic tools such as nail guns, an air compressor provides the power. Renting an air compressor means you get the right tools for the job but avoid storing them in your toolbox. Choose from a gas or electric air compressor in the size that suits your project. An inflator, cousin to the air compressor, is also great for quick tire inflation or blowing up large Valentine's Day inflatables.
Complete those big projects by renting a generator to have power where you need it. Run rented power tools, a sound system during a tailgate party, or even an RV. If you're in the market for a generator, rent one first to see what you like.
Load 'N Go Trucks
If you're renting a large tool but don't have room in your vehicle, we can help with that too. Check out our Load 'N Go rental vehicles and rent a truck. Stop taking up space in the driveway with an old pickup for times you need to move something. Just rent a moving truck when you need it and keep your driveway open for grilling, hopscotch, or a game of catch.

How do I rent tools or trucks?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what's available. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool or truck. You can also check out our truck rental or tool rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your local store. For more details on renting tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent a tool for an hour?
Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY jobs may only require a rental for a few hours, and long-term projects can also be accomodated. You've got options to rent tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call your Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
It's fine to return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a few hours?
Rent a truck or moving van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the terms and conditions before you decide on a vehicle.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. When you don't refill the rental truck, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
