These home improvement stores used to intimidate me. I had ideas for DIY and projects but little experience and knowledge of how to accomplish it. Recently, went to this Home Depot and a gentleman named James went above and beyond what any other employee had done before. He educated me in the differences of drills. Listened to my ideas of projects and walked with me aisle by aisle to show me different tools or products to make each project a success. I will only go to this Home Depot now and will always make sure I speak with James. He may not have remembered me by name but that is fine. I remember him and he is my number one resource for any project I am doing. I was married for 8 years previously and my ex husband never explained things as simplistic and direct as this employee. I am so grateful for this knowledgable Home Depot employee. Oh and I finally made my tool peg board for all my new tools as new single lady with my new home. Thanks James and Home Depot!

This particular Home Depot in Anchorage, AK, is now my "go to" store. On multiple occasions I've received stellar customer service assistance and their inventory is second to none. NE Anchorage location is superb!!!!!

Y'all need to hire *real* security instead of the lame ones you already have. I'm tired of coming in here and seeing random cracked out homeless people stealing and your "assets protection" people just standing there watching. Grow a pair and throw them out!

A simple visit turning to nightmare,leave me alone!?

This is our Go To Store. IT is a bit further than other options and worth every second of the extra time and miles.

What should have been a quick trip turned into one of the most frustrating shopping experiences I’ve had. I went in to buy a wood chipper, a blower, and a pair of pruning shears. Unfortunately, nearly everything in the store is locked up. You can’t purchase basic items without tracking down an associate to unlock them. It feels excessive and makes shopping incredibly difficult. After finally finding someone at customer service, I told them I wanted to buy a wood chipper. Instead of unlocking the item or preparing it, the employee just scanned a QR code and walked off. I still had to find someone else to unlock the blower and shears, which took another 15 minutes. The person helping me didn’t have all the keys and had to locate the items one at a time. I paid for everything up front, assuming it would be ready. It wasn’t. The same employee who scanned the wood chipper earlier never unlocked it. I waited an extra 30 minutes for him to go to the back and bring it out—without any sense of urgency. The checkout process was just as frustrating. My Home Depot commercial credit card wouldn’t work properly because the chip was faulty, and the self-checkout kiosk couldn’t handle it. As a veteran, I appreciate the 10% discount, but because the discount exceeded $100, the system flagged it and needed a manager override. The manager showed up briefly, pressed a few buttons, and walked away before ensuring the transaction was finished. To make matters worse, the wood chipper is now malfunctioning and will need to be returned. This store has gone downhill. I’ve shopped here for years, but the lack of efficiency, poor customer service, and locked merchandise have made the experience nearly impossible. If anyone at Home Depot is paying attention, I’d appreciate a follow-up.

Venie Santiago who work at kitchen and bath helped us out a lot on making a decision to remodel our kitchen floor. I’m definitely coming back and will do our living room floor as well in the next couple of months because of him.

Just needed some reflective tape after a really long day. First guy didn't understand what I was looking for. A nice young lady could see I was frustrated and ask if she could help. Took me right to it and I was on my way. Sorry I didn't get her name but THANKS A LOT!!

We live just three minutes from #1302 Anchorage Home Depot store and have shopped there many times over the past twenty years. We have purchased a washer and dryer, freezer, hot water heater, dishwasher, new kitchen vinyl plank flooring, curtain rods, plants from the garden department, lighting, storm door, tools, and lots more. Every time we go the employees are such great people. They are courteous and very helpful and sometimes just down right fun. They truly feel like they're happy to work there. We are not DIY Boomers for larger projects and the contractors they use have been professional and do exceptional work.

If you need windows shop with Thomas Papp. He’s very knowledgeable and will get you the best prices with all the different options available.

Who doesn't like shopping in a nice place. Outside appearance was great and then all the employees I talked to were very nice and helpful. I felt appreciated.

As a person who took on a remodel project and knows little, I went to this Home Depot looking for trim and other items. I was helped not only pointing out the product I needed but they stayed with me to answer all my questions, find all the things I needed, and made sure I had a clear idea of how to accomplish it. Super great customer service!

Home Depot is great and their staff is knowledgeable and helpful

I bought a grill recently and the staff at the store were very helpful in getting it pulled from inventory, checked out and loaded. I also enjoy that this location is typically not overly busy so it is a pleasant shopping experience.
