I’m from out of town and it was my first time shopping at that location. I was not familiar with the layout and I was looking for a particular item when this incident occurred. I was in the paint department and came around the corner of the aisle for canvas drop cloth and my attention was on the bay to my right as I was trying to find a particular item and that’s when I stepped in a pool of white paint. At the time, I thought it was only the bottom of my shoe that sustained damage however, once I got back to the hotel, I realize the paint has splash onto my jeans. Therefore, I ruined a pair of good shoes and jeans in this trip. At the time of the incident, I caught myself things to the shopping cart. I was pushing however, when I inform the closest associate who was working in the paint station, her initial response was “ who did that?” and then proceeded to call out if there was anyone in the aisle. There was no inquiry about the damage done to my clothes or my well-being. There was no action taken to prevent anyone else from going down the aisle. She was more concerned that her shift was ending in about 10 minutes that nothing was done and within that aisle there was another associate who was at the far end helping someone. I don’t know if they notice it which I don’t understand why and how they couldn’t see it but there was also no action taken from that person. The overall vibe I got from that location is no one wants to be there and no one cares about cleanliness or safety in that store. I’m not from here, but I now get to hold onto this memory of damage to my clothing.

I went shopping for a new washer and dryer Saturday. Shakeemah L at the customer service desk was so helpful and patient with me. She helped me to get a price adjustment to honor my military discount on my purchase. She was so polite and professional!

I appreciate the online site reflecting actual product quality and aisle locations. Streamlined shopping experience, will be back!

I purchased this gas range a few days ago the sales persons was polite and professional providing the knowledge I needed for my choice. When setting up for payment and delivery Ms Doreen provided other product information and services. We need more people like them. Thanks again. Also Delivery was timely and efficient.

I do not recommend no one to go to that store it is horrible they need new management I shop at Home Depot a lot and spend 30k per month it’s no way I get treated like that The store manager Marcus and manager Clyde need to be fired or put in training it is terrible I advise everyone to never go to 980 Springfield ave Newark nj Home Depot it’s terrible and they will disrespect you in your face I REPEAT DO NOT GO THERE NEED NEW MANAGMENT !

Failed to provide all the parts for the rental equipment. Cost me money and lost time. I will have to rent again. The workers had to leave.

Hours waiting for help not enough workers like other home depots outside of essex county poor customer service I belive the area speaks volumes why service is not respected but full pledge neglect is tolerate

Nia, the pro-desk supervisor, went above and beyond in helping me TIMELY with a custom wood cut on a day that my contractor called in sick. Not only she had everything ready in a matter of hours she also helped me locate all the tools that I need for the job. Not withstanding her friendly personality. I am familiar with this store and I don't have a good experience coming here. Nia contributed, considerably, to revert my expectations when shopping here. She is a keeper.

on January 20/2024 at about 8:53pm while checking out Tysha practically jumped on my back and attacked me over a simple mistake of thinking the register was self checkout. Tysha left her register open and unattended for about 10 minutes and in that time I asked another Home Depot employee with red dreadlocks if the register was available to which she replied" aint nobody over there ". This is coming from a former Home Depot Associate who knows how much HomeDepot Values customers this is a poor example of having core values and in no way should any employee attack a customer especially while they are with their children. Tysha you are extremely unprofessional and you should be ashamed, Marcus you should have your staff reevaluated there is no way those type of individuals should be the last experience they have in your store. What a disgrace.
