Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting plastic plant pots, CFLs, lead acid batteries, and rechargeable batteries for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used for composite decking materials, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment, as well as our communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

Do you offer large outdoor Halloween decorations?
We offer a number of large outdoor Halloween decorations, including many life-sized animatronics. Make your yard the spookiest in the neighborhood with giant Halloween decor options, including skeletons, reapers, and witches. Dean the Deathologist and Skelly are two current favorites. Halloween inflatables tend to be less scary and are an excellent choice for homes with children.
Is it good to have a generator at home?
Having a generator means you're prepared for any circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether dealing with tornados, hurricanes, severe thunderstorms, blizzards or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy power when the elements take it out. When considering different generators for sale, don't forget that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. Always run your generators outside, away from doors and windows, for safety purposes.
How can I prepare my home for the winter?
Make sure your home is ready for cold weather by replacing any faulty parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in any crevices, you could be in for a real headache. On the outside of your home, examine metal roofs or roofing shingles for rust or damage that could let water leak in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams. Check cinder block and brickwork for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. Lastly, chimney caps and vinyl siding should be changed out if they're damaged.
What are some storage solutions for a crowded holiday home?
As you prepare for the holidays, make extra space with storage solutions. Shoe storage and other storage containers remove summer belongings from the equation. Garage cabinets keep decorations, tools, and more out of the way. Shield fragile items with moving blankets. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you plenty.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Gift cards to The Home Depot are a popular present during the holiday season or for any special occasion. DIYers know these gift cards are fun to give and to receive. You can purchase them at our brick-and-mortar stores or online at homedepot.com. If you're a recipient, you can visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Our gift cards can be used to shop online or redeemed in-store with no additional fees.
