The cashier Yolanda was very rude and unprofessional she made our experience with Home Depot so terrible that we never plan to shop there again!!

We went to Home Depot #0866 Wednesday afternoon (10/12/22) trying to buy 100 bags of mulch. I was told they couldn’t sell them to me because they couldn’t put anyone on a forklift and surmised it would be that way the remainder of the day because it was thundering and raining. (It quit raining about 30 minutes later.) I returned Thursday to buy the mulch which was located next to the fire lane as it was yesterday. We loaded it directly onto my trailer without a forklift. At the cash register, I received another surprise. It took about 15 minutes of efforts at the register and at customer service trying to scan my account’s QR code to finally have a manager over the phone to determine mulch was not eligible for a military discount “because it is made of wood.” Apparently, the constantly changing list of items eligible for a military discount is too fluid for even your customer service representatives to remember. I paid by check and had to break the purchase into two loads. When I returned to purchase the second 50 bags with a check as I had 2 hours before, my check was denied. The cashier immediately said my bank was denying the check which I told her was absolutely wrong. I told her it was your system, which it turned out to be after another 10-15 ordeal at the service desk and speaking to your check handler, Telecheck, by phone. I was told this was a frequent problem with your system by your customer service representatives. Telecheck was asking questions about my account such as who are signatories on my banking account, which I find far beyond any reasonable inquiry. I refused to provide that information and they refused to honor the check. These kinds of events are becoming more and more prevalent when we shop at the Oxford store. And they will definitely remembered as we make our future purchase decisions. If I had not been in the throes of a huge landscaping project during this ordeal, requiring this specific brand of mulch, I wouldn’t have made these purchases.

The place was packed full of stuff sitting everywhere. Guess China finally sent some back orders….Notnone cashier…girl said have you use the self checkout! I told her I didn’t know how and she did it for us! Then I had something that rang up for $54.00. I told her I didn’t want that and she oh you have to go down to the service desk to get it off….so mad…got down to the service desk to a look like 16 year old—only person in the entire store running a cash register—-did the transaction without issue…I don’t think he ever spoke a word! This store needs to just close their doors if they can’t get some folks to work!! Did I say “mad”!!!

The store employees were standing around and goofing off. I saw them throwing a ball around in the plywood aisle. I waited for 20 minutes before calling the store while standing inside of the store to get some help.

I love our Oxford Home Depot! It is always clean. The employees make it a point to make you feel welcome and are more than willing to help you have a good shopping experience.
