Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, CFLs, and lead acid batteries for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used in composite decking materials, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
Since 2010, we have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment and our local communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our eco actions.

Do you carry big outdoor Halloween decorations?
Yes, we have many kinds of gigantic outdoor Halloween decorations, including several life-sized animatronics. Make your front yard the spookiest on the block with giant Halloween decor options, including witches, skeletons, and dragons. Dean the Deathologist and Skelly are two current favorites. Halloween inflatables are another way to up the drama and create interest.
Why should I get a generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared for whatever circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether you're dealing with blizzards, thunderstorms, hurricanes, tornados, or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy power when the elements knock it out. When considering different generators for sale, don't forget that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. Always run your generators outdoors, away from windows and doors, for safety purposes.
Should I do siding repairs before it gets cold?
Ready your home for colder weather by replacing or repairing faulty parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in the crevices, you could be in for major repairs later. Check bricks and cinder blocks for cracks, and verify indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. On the outside of your home, examine metal roof panels or shingles for rust or damage that could let water leak in. Gutters should be clear and functional to prevent ice dams. Lastly, replace vinyl siding and chimney caps if damaged.
Are sheds or garage cabinets better for storage?
As you prepare for the holidays, stow unused items to free up space. Garage cabinets keep decorations, tools, and more out of the way. Shoe racks and other storage containers remove summer belongings from the equation. Moving blankets protect fragile items as they're packed together. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you the space you've been waiting for.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Gift cards to The Home Depot are an excellent present for housewarming parties, birthdays, and the holidays. DIYers know these gift cards are fun to give and to receive. Purchase gift cards at our stores or online at homedepot.com. If you're a recipient, you can visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Redeem our gift cards in-store or use them to shop online with no additional fees.
