Recycling at The Home Depot

Did you know?

Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, and CFLs for recycling.

Our stores sent approximately 5.3M pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This has helped the planet by preserving over 63.5K trees. It kept over 16K trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saved over 50M gallons of water, and conserved 7.8M kilowatt hours of electricity.

We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.

The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers. This commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment, as well as our local communities. The Worst Performance of Customer Service Ever!!!
This was the worst performance ever!!!! the service there has change since I used to work a while back. I was returning 16"x16" Step Stone an associate with her basket while talking to another associate, she turned looked and went back to talking with her basket in the way. So I didn't disturb her I managed to pull my basket to the left and squeeze by her. Then I went to the returns and the young man associate clocked out, and told the young women associate he clocked out and the young women associated approved by a manager and he said yes it was. And I told the young man to have a nice day. As I stood there waiting, there was possible six associate, I said one of you are running the register, then young lady associate and said I am. I told her that 16"x16" Step Stone had broke i would to get another on. I was told something like "I apologizes for the inconvenience" I said no problem I was getting some more, I gave her the receipt she took a pen out highlighted the item and wrote on it "on to exchange one - $D. I didn’t get a Store Credit, I was thinking to myself. She told me to take to the cashier and show her my receipt. Then I got my (16) 16"x16" Step Stones, Fabuloso and Clorox Wipes, got to the register the cashier then told me I had (14) 16"x16" Step Stones, Fabuloso and Clorox Wipes, then gave how much it cost, I stopped looked at her and recounted the Step Stones, She said oh... there 16, I said yes but one is a returned, and I gave her the receipt, she was confused, and I should her what it said. I really think the returns associate was supposed to give a Store Credit!!! Home Depot has change since I was a cashier, on the rules. Just Saying.

Well stocked but shopping here is starting to feel third-world.
I understand retail crime is high but the armed security guards inside and out is off putting. Locking up household items like laundry detergent and basic tools is the result of huge losses but give the impression the store is unsafe. The check out experience is gross. All reasons to shop elsewhere at this point.
            Great customer service
Love when I get takin care of in a store thank you sabrina

              Great service
One of the best and greatest cashiers anytime I come in especially on Saturdays when busy Sabrina works hard and fast. I appreciate her time and work! Hope we get more people like her. She gets all items scanned and bagged.

Rude customer service from the manager
Coya was rude to her employees and rude to the customers . Acted as if she was too good to help and seemed bothered that we interrupted her for a customer concern.
Very Cluttered, Very Dirty, Transients in Parking Lot
Store was extremely cluttered & disorganized. As a disabled person it was very difficult to get full access inside this store. Main isles (front, middle, rear & several of the front to back isles) are so filled with items that passage is difficult & barley wide enough for a single cart. Several isles were completely blocked mid-isle & it was necessary to back up. The bathrooms (employee needed to open) were absolutely, disgustingly filthy, in no way are these cleaned regularly. There were a number of transients in the parking lot, looking in vehicles, trying to open doors, yelling at customers, definitely did not feel safe. Store has a "Security" SUV parked in front with flashing blue lights (vehicle is empty) security person was inside flexing his biceps while several female workers laughed & giggled.
                    One great cashier
Thank you Sabrina for your hard work
