Recycling at Home Depot

Did you know?

This store helps divert waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot sold to Trex last year. This is used to manufacture composite decking, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
LED lights in your local store helped save on energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours last year. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like solar and wind.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to our communities and the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn More.

What additional precautions is The Home Depot taking in light of COVID-19?
The adjusted hours give stores the ability to staff appropriately and provide additional time to restock shelves and perform cleaning. As part of our normal practice, our stores and other facilities are cleaned and sanitized daily. Following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we've increased the frequency of cleaning and general hygiene maintenance in stores and other locations. We've also stepped up our efforts to disinfect high-traffic and high-touch areas like self-checkout, door handles, and bathrooms, as well as posting signage about handwashing and other preventative actions.
We're promoting social distancing in our stores and distribution centers, which includes stores limiting the number of customers inside at any given time. In addition to training our associates on social distancing, we've placed distancing markers at some of our checkout counters and are making overhead announcements on our store PA systems asking customers to practice social distancing.

Is The Home Depot Waltham hiring?
As an essential retailer, we're hiring seasonal associates in Customer Service/Sales, Store Support, Freight, and Merchandising. We’re taking measures to keep our associates and customers safe, including providing face coverings and gloves, limiting the number of customers in stores at one time, promoting social and physical distancing practices, and implementing additional cleaning measures to sanitize facilities. Apply now. The Home Depot® is an Equal Opportunity/M/F/Vet/Disabled Employer.

I went to the store in Aug 25 to buy paint for the concrete floor of three-season porch. An associate at paint dept told me I need epoxy paint. Then I bought a gallon "epoxy" paint recommended by the associate. The next day I painted the concrete floor with the "epoxy" paint. In over a week after rain I noticed marks on the floor and paint got sticky, looks abnormal. I went back to the store in Sept. 13 and got to know that what I bought is not epoxy paint, even I was told it was. It is a mess at the porch floor. What a waste of time and money! How careless is the store associate?!

Managers poorly trained. Not helpful to customers. Instead, try to find ways how to harass, discriminate loyal customers. Home Depot sales could hurt significantly with poorly trained managers. Some manager has no knowledge about how many quantities of specific product customer can buy. They kept making their own rules but not applying that rules among all customers and seem to discriminating seem loyal customers by telling that they can only buy certain number of quantities.

I received assistance from an associate by the name of Annmarie to have 2 blinds cut. Annmarie was not only professional and enthusiastic in wanting to assist me she was also friendly and personable. After Annmarie cut each blind she measured each one to make sure the measurement was accurate and they both were. As Annmarie was doing the cuts I explained to her that I was in the store last week on Tuesday, June 16th, 2020 to get these cuts done. I told Annmarie that I waited almost 30 minutes and no one came to help me or to tell me that there was no one to help me. I left the store as an unhappy customer. I asked 3 associates for assistance and each associate did make the call for assistance but it never came. After hearing my tale of whoa Annmarie gave me a 25% discount on all 3 blinds that I purchased. Annmarie stated that there was no need for me having to wait that long with no one coming to help me. Annmarie made up for that shortfall by giving me the discount. That is why I gave an excellent rating not only for the store but also for Annmarie. If Home Depot can get more associates with Annmarie's attitude, professionalism and customer care it would become an awesome store to shop.
