Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
LED lights in your local store reduced energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like wind and solar.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers. This commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment and our communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

Do you carry tall Halloween decorations that talk?
Yes, we carry several options of Halloween decor that move and make noise. Our Halloween animatronics bring eerie characters to life. Life-like moving creatures will be the talk of the neighborhood. For extra drama, use a fog machine or two to conceal the animatronics until they start to roar or cackle. You can even become part of the scene by hiding in a Halloween costume and surprising trick-or-treaters.
Do you carry drip irrigation kits?
We have all the irrigation pipes and parts you need to build or repair your system. When you install a drip irrigation system, you can keep your lawn and garden green and healthy this summer with less effort. Irrigation controllers and smart timers make it easy to schedule watering near sunrise and sunset.
What's the project for the free Kids Workshop?
Don't miss our Kids Workshop on October 5th, from 9–noon or while supplies last. It's time to put together a fire rescue truck! Your little builder can assemble their very own toy truck — complete with a ladder on top. Remember to leave some time to be a hero!

If you're a recipient, you can visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online.
