Thank you for your inquiry on the 1/2 in. Copper Tee (10-Bag). NIBCO fittings are sized nominally, meaning that it is the inside diameter of the tubing that defines its size. If the ID is 3/8 in. you will need to use a 3/8 in fitting. If you need further assistance, you can reach a NIBCO Technical Services Advisor, M-F 8am - 6pm EST, by phone at (888) 446-4226. Thank you!
No. Copper tubing is sized by its inner diameter. 1/2" tubing actually has a 5/8" outer diameter so these copper Tee's actually have a 5/8" inner diameter. You need a 3/8" copper Tee which will have a 1/2" inner diameter.
