The Everbilt 3/4 HP submersible sump pump is constructed of heavy-duty cast iron and features a PSC motor for energy efficiency and savings. The fasteners for the HDS75 are corrosion resistant stainless steel and the pump is protected by a powder coated epoxy finish. The Everbilt HDS75 is engineered to pass a 1/2 in. solids and features a vortex non-clogging impeller making it an ideal pump for sump, effluent and dewatering applications, such as basement sumps, mound systems and septic tanks.

Junk false advertising
This pump is supposed to be powder coated and rust proof. After 24 hours my pool is rusted and the whole pump is rusted. Contacted the manufacturer...waiting for a response. Will be returning! It’s definitely not powder coated!

The HDS75 is powder coated, and constructed of heavy duty cast iron. Cast iron will rust over time which is normal and it is no different than any pro level cast iron pump. Of course this rust does not rust completely through the heavy duty cast iron which allows the pump to last for years. Lastly, this pump is designed for use in water removal from a basin located in a house (usually in the basement).
Our customer service department can walk you through the process of selecting the correct pump for all of your applications. In this particular application, we would have suggested a thermoplastic Utility pump (air filled vs. oil filled motor) which is designed for such applications. We would not recommend using a sump pump for this type of application (shorter cord, product not to be used with an extension cord, etc.). This is one of the reasons why The Home Depot carries a wide variety of pumps for different applications. 844-883-1872. Thanks.

This submersible pump should be installed by a qualified professional who is knowledgable about what these pumps are designed to do and the specs regarding each pump. Each one is different.
First, the electrical cord is 10' long and needs to be close to an GFCI outlet rated for the amps. The basin needs to be 14" in diameter however, 20" is better to allow you to work with the pump. The minimum depth is 22" and we went to 24".
This pump is hefty at 33 lbs, however it does come with a handle which makes it easy to lower into the basin. The float is adjustible for the amount of water in the basin for shut off. Has an excellent pump action and the discharge allows for 1/2" solids. This pump is going into a driveway channel. We have slab construction, however the driveway slopes to the garage opening. Putting a drainage grate in front wasn't enough so a basin and discharge line to a yard drain is being installed. My contractor assures me that this unit will be perfect for this situation.
Instructions are excellent and give detailed diagrams for installation parameters. The diagrams are excellent plus the online manual gives a lot of good information.

This review is for the Everbilt 3/4 HP submersible sump pump,

I have had other products from Everbilt and found them to be great.
I didn't have a need specifically for a sump pump, but I got this pump
as I do have a need to at times remove water from my 20,000 gallon
swimming pool; be it to remove all of the water every 3 years, excess
rain water or to lower the level to add fresh water to maintain the
chemical balance of the pool. And this pump is 'exactly' what I needed.
It is a very well built pump designed to last and give years of service.
Living in the desert Southwest and it's sun, I tend to avoid plastic items
that will be used outside. This pump is manufactured with cast iron and
stainless steel.
And at 3/4 HP, this pump can really move a lot of water which is exactly
what I wanted.
Just lower it into the water and the float switch will float up and turn it on.
Works great. It does not come with water hoses nor connectors, a separate
purchase that I made this morning, but this makes sense considering the
many variables of use a pump like this will see. I also suggest a rope tied
to the pump handle to raise and lower it instead of using the power cord.
I also added a one-way valve on the out fall line to ensure nothing I don't
want comes back into the pool. After connecting the proper plumbing pieces
for my specific installation,I connected the discharge line and plugged it in.
This pump MOVES water. My 20,000 gallon pool level dropped inches in
just an hour. Rather impressive.
A great sturdy made pump to fulfill many projects for many years. I love it.
