Q:Can this canvas drop cloth be used to protect a rolled up pool solar cover/blanket from the sun? (Original thin plastic over-cover tore to pieces; finding something light colored and 3-6 ft. x 25+ ft. isn't easy, and two of these might work. They would be stored in a deck box when the blanket is spread on the pool.)

Answer This Question

A:  They are not as heavy duty as the top of the line drop cloths but pretty heavy material. Given mold etc does not attack it, I see this lasting in the sun for at least 2 years. I was thinking of having custom furniture covers made from it. The cost per yard seems very reasonable.

A:  Of course you can paint this! Dyeing is different. If it?s cotton, you can definitely dye it. I?m answering this old question in case anyone else asks.

A:  No, it can't be painted.

          Painters drop cloth
I purchased the cloth not for painting purposes but for recovering my patio furniture cushions as I had seen on TV that it was a cheap way of covering worn cushions. It is enough material to cover the loveseat on a patio set with a little bit more material to spare to cover a few additional toss cushions. Given it is relatively inexpensive if it doesn’t hold up well after one summer it won’t be a big loss but I should be able to launder it so we shall see.

Other use for a Drop Cloth
Very good sturdy material. I used the drop cloth to recover my antique dining room chairs. Gave them a great look and took a stencil design really well. Would recommend.

This was a good price and value for the amount of paint on the job. If mord paint had dropped it may have soaked through though.

I bought this after seeing pro painters use them. I will never buy another plastic drop cloth again. This stays in place as you are walking on it and moving ladders. I love it!

This is quite a bargain for craft purposes as others have found as well. I'm very pleased with my carport curtain which will block a lot of sun, some wind rain and snow, and hopefully 100% of the bird droppings I get on my car while sitting in the carport. I only had one small 6 inch square bad spot on one of my two tarps that was no big deal and easily patched but I would suggest inspecting the whole thing before you start working with it.

I didn't use it to paint. I used 4 of them to make curtains for my pergola. The sun hits it in the evening and this took the heat off my plants. My cats love to sit and enjoy the breeze.

I used this painters drop cloth as fabric to cover a sofa. Upholstery fabric is very expensive but with a little time and very little effort I made my own fabric using three of these. Used Behr latex paint and a wall stencil----got the color and pattern I wanted. I'm sure that Everbilt isn't looking for this type of review but the canvas is high quality and I'm confident that it will hold up to everyday use for a long time.
