Questions & Answers

What is a heat pump and how does that differ from other dryers
ByDec 4, 2024
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

Hello there, Susan. Thank you for your inquiry. We understand you're asking about what a heat pump is and how it differs from other dryers. A heat pump dryer, like the LG DLHC1455W, uses a heat pump to circulate and recycle hot air within the dryer. This technology works by extracting moisture from clothes and then using a heat exchanger to dry them, all while recycling the hot air. This results in a much more energy-efficient process, as it consumes less electricity compared to traditional vented or condenser dryers. In contrast, traditional dryers typically use electric heating elements or gas to generate heat, and they require external venting to release the moisture-laden air. Heat pump dryers are more energy-efficient because they don’t require venting, and they operate at lower temperatures, making them gentler on your clothes. https://www.lg.com/us/washers-dryers/lg-dlhc1455w-front-load-electric-dryer#pdp_specs For more information or further assistance, please send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport, and our team will be happy to assist you! —Renzo

      Answer This Question

Hi there, Steven. Thank you for reaching out with your questions! We understand that you're looking to confirm the plug type for your LG DLHC1455W dryer and the connection with your washer. The LG DLHC1455W dryer requires a 240V, 30 Amp power supply, and it uses a 3 or 4-prong plug for the electrical connection. It's important to ensure that your dryer is connected to the appropriate electrical outlet to maintain safety and efficiency. As for the washer, it does not plug into the dryer. Each unit requires a separate power connection, as the dryer and washer typically operate independently. https://www.lg.com/us/washers-dryers/lg-dlhc1455w-front-load-electric-dryer#pdp_specs If you have any further questions or need assistance with installation, please send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport, and our team will be more than happy to assist you further. Answer This Question

Hi there, Amanda. Thank you for your inquiry about the LG DLHC1455W Front Load Electric Dryer. We understand you're wondering if this dryer has to be stacked or if it can be used side by side. The LG DLHC1455W is designed to be stackable with an LG compact washer using the included stacking kit. However, it can also be used side by side if you prefer that arrangement, as long as there's enough space for proper ventilation and installation. The stacking kit is included for secure and convenient stacking, but it's not required if you opt for the side-by-side setup. https://www.lg.com/us/washers-dryers/lg-dlhc1455w-front-load-electric-dryer#pdp_specs For further assistance or if you need more details, please send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport, and our team will be happy to assist you. Is there a lint filter that needs to be cleaned regularly
              ByNov 23, 2024
              1 Answer |
              Answer This Question

Hi there, thank you for your question! The LG DLHC1455W front-load electric dryer is designed with an Auto Cleaning Condenser™ that flushes away lint automatically, enhancing drying performance and maintaining energy efficiency. This means there’s no traditional lint filter to clean manually, as the system takes care of it for you. For routine maintenance, it's still a good idea to check the area around the condenser and the dryer vent to ensure optimal airflow and performance. Customers say the LG ventless dryer with Dual Inverter Heat Pump Technology is compact and energy-efficient, making it suitable for small spaces. While many appreciate its quiet operation and effective drying capabilities, several users report longer drying times compared to traditional dryers, often requiring multiple cycles for larger loads. The convenience of a water collection system and smart features, such as app connectivity, are highlighted positively, though some customers express concerns about the dryer not fully drying clothes in a single cycle. Overall, the product is well-received for its design and efficiency, despite some challenges with drying performance.

                  Very dry clothes
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a little nervous to buy this product after reading some bad reviews saying the clothes did not dry. That has certainly not been my experience. If anything, it seems the sensor dry keeps drying after what I feel the clothes are completely dry and I will sometimes stop the dryer and take the clothes out. I have my dryer hooked up so that the water goes down the drain rather than collecting in the reservoir and this is really great. The instructions are very clear on how to install this so that it does go down the drain as there is only one cap that is removed from the bottom of the t-piece on the side of the dryer after disconnecting the tube that goes to the reservoir and placing it on top. I would just say I'm very happy and I can't understand the bad reviews, but maybe LG made some improvements or I just got lucky. Anyway, I really love my dryer. The dryer has the stacking brackets that are used to stack on top of the washing machine. Nothing extra to buy!.

                      Made to Last
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Twelve years ago I remodeled my kitchen and purchased all LG appliances. They are all made to last! Last month I decided to update my washer and dryer. I absolutely LOVE my ventless dryer. The clothes dry nearly wrinkle free and towels come out so soft that I don’t need fabric softener anymore. Now my iPhone alerts me when the cycle is complete!

                        Dryer sensor is awful
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If I could rate this a zero star I would. The dryer sensor is garbage. I can’t dry a full load properly without it prematurely shutting off. It takes me a whole day to do a load of laundry as a busy working mom. Tried all the troubleshooting I could find on the web. So frustrating.

Hi there. We realize how important a quick dry is to your laundry routine! If your dryer is taking too long to dry, it's likely due to a blockage to your dryer's airflow. Airflow blockages can be caused by an obstruction in the ductwork or lint build-up on your air filter. Please try the steps in the following link for help: http://spr.ly/6424bGH7A. If these don't result in a resolution, we're available to have a closer look! Please send us a private message on social media (@LGUSSupport) with your phone, model, & serial numbers. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Would not recommend. Takes 3+ hours to dry, typically needs more than one cycle. Slow and not efficient. The worse part is the lint trap which will catch anything with a drawstring and twist it until it destroys your clothes.

Hi there Grace, thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. If your LG dryer is taking too long to dry your clothes or your dryer is not heating properly this is likely due to a blockage to the dryer's airflow, which will make dry times longer than normal. Airflow blockages can be caused by an obstruction in the duct work or lint build-up on your air filter. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a few weeks ago and have been very impressed with it. Very quiet and enjoy the status I get from the dryer on my cellphone. The real winner with this dryer is that you save two ways. It recycles the air in the dryer rather than inefficiently blowing heated air outside. Will also save on my fuel oil bill since I am no longer be sucking in cold air to replace the air normally blown outside (only to be reheated by my furnace in the process).
