Q:I have had no luck filling with recommended butane canister. Holding upside down and pushing in as far as will go and it just spits and leaks without filling. What can I be doing wrong. I am good at following instructions!

A:  Same problem here. Red nozzle on the can of butane is too small to fit over the valve stem of the torch. Miss-manufactured. Used a 5/64 drill bit, then a 3/32 drill bit, with fingers, to widen the tube on the red nozzle. Still messy but works.

A:  I love the little torch but I have the same problem I just end up wrapping it in a rag and making a big mess whenever I fill it

A:  Hi KimS, here is the instructions. A few tips to help is initially depress the trigger briefly to allow any compressed air in the torch to escape but only briefly. Remember when full it may overflow. FILLING INSTRUCTIONS 1. Wear safety goggles and gloves when filling the torch. 2. Use fuel canister when filling torch with fuel. 3. Torch must be extinguished before filling. 4. Torch must be cooled to room temperature before filling the torch. 5. Fill torch in a well-ventilated area free of fire or other sources of ignition and away from people. 6. Do not smoke while filling the torch. 7. Hold the torch upside down. 8. Invert the fuel canister and insert the fuel canister tip into the fill valve on the bottom of the torch. 9. Push the fuel canister and torch together to allow fuel to flow into the torch fuel tank. 10. Stop filing if the fuel begins to overflow. 11. After filling, allow fuel to stabilize 3 minutes before igniting the torch. 12. After filling, listen for leaks. Do not use if leaking.

This is a great little torch that is inexpensive, about 4-5 inches tall. The tool is made out of plastic, so very light; and has a good flame to heat your basic craft and handy-man needs. It has the power to stay lit in the wind or in tough spots, and has a safety feature on it to ensure it doesn't stay on longer than needed or turn on while in your belt. It is not for heavy duty use, but good for common needs around the house.

Small, easy to start, not sure how useful it really is. ======================================== Positives: 1. Small. 2. Starts easily. 3. Has a safety lock switch and a switch to lock it in the on position. 4. Gas flow is easily adjustable. Could be improved: 1. I found this could not deliver enough heat to de-solder a ½” copper pipe fitting (on fully dry pipe). 2. For use with food, the baker in the house found that the flame was a bit too “pinpoint” which led to a small area of sugar being heated too fast while the rest of the sugar was un-melted. Practice might make it easier but a standard hardware store propane torch works well instead, although the propane ones are MUCH larger. It would be nice if the flame could be made wider instead of longer as that would likely solve the problem.

This beautifully engineered little - 5 inches tall, 3 inches wide - butane blowtorch is versatile in that it allows a blue pinpoint as well as a full candle-like orange flame. You use a slide-switch on top to make the selection. A flame volume control is on the right side. It self-starts with a push-down trigger at the rear. A small slide-switch on the left side locks it on. Refills easily and quickly with any cigarette lighter butane refill unit.

This Titan 3 multi-function butane torch is pretty handy to have in my tool box. I use it for shrink wrapping and it works well. I had some butane on hand and loaded the torch easily. The adjustable flame works well and I had no problems with the trigger ignition. If needed for longer use, the torch has a Flame Lock Switch, which is a nice option to have. It's lightweight, compact and easy to use. The packaging indicates all of its uses; electrical, plumbing, electronics, cooking, crafts, camping and cigars. There is a child safety switch in case young ones are around and inquisitive but the torch should be stored safely. I am quite pleased with this handy torch. It does exactly what it describes and the packaging is easy to open and remove. It comes with a 1 Year manufacture warranty which brings me an added layer of confidence.

I chose this mini butane torch to use for electrical heat shrink wrap. I use heat shrink fairly often and while I have an electric heat gun I use, I wanted the portability and ease of use of not having an electric cord. This is a very economical alternative. Cordless heat guns are very expensive and use a lot of battery power. They are also just as bulky as a corded unit. This butane torch is so much better. It’s lightweight, very compact and can be used anywhere. I purchased a small tank of butane (about the size of a can of spray paint) and filled this torch up. I slid the unlock button and pressed the igniter and it immediately lit and had a hot flame. You can hold the igniter down and the flame stays lit until you release it, or lock it on and the flame stays lit until you unlock it. Very convenient to have both options. The flame is easily adjustable from small to large with a slide on the side of the trigger head. This torch works perfect for shrink wrap and fits into tight areas much easier then an electric or battery unit. I’m very pleased with this and how much easier it makes my job. I highly recommend it.

Titan3 Multi-Function Butane Torch, Black. The torch comes without fuel so plan on getting that if you buy the torch. I filled the torch when my fuel arrived and found that there was a lot of over spray from the fill bottle. Not sure if this is normal or if it is a characteristic of that fuel bottle delivery. There are 4 controls on the torch in addition to the trigger to spark the flame. There is a control for the intensity of the flame from 0 to high flame. There is a vent switch on top that must be opened to allow the flame to light. There is a lock button to prevent hitting the flame button. And last is a lock to keep the flame button engaged while working with the torch. It is hard to tell the duration of a full charge or if the torch is fully charged. The package claims there are multiple uses for the torch. They include electrical, plumbing, electronics, cooking, crafts, camping and lighting smoking materials.

The torch came quickly and was not damaged. The packaging is very good which displays the unit well and even has the instructions on the back of the box. Filling the torch with with the butane fuel was easy and worked flawlessly. The torch has a very good safety interlock system to prevent tampering or unauthorized use. It is easy to operate and has several useful adjustments that can be made.

The Titan3 Multi Function Butane Torch is one handy little tool to have. Very compact little torch. With a nice pedestal base which can stand by itself for when you need both hands. To work hands free on your project. Nice easy switches. One locks the torch as a safety feature for unwanted ignition. Second button adjusts the flame length to suit the job. Third button allows for continuous flame without your finger on the button. And the top button controls flame oxygen mixture. To get that hot blue flame. I'm thinking around the campfire or lighting your charcoal grill this torch will excel. Or even that fireplace for that nice fire on a cold night. The torch needed fuel. So I picked a can of butane for 3.29. The can worked well with no special tip on the butane can. Just read the instructions for safe refueling the torch.

This is one of those tools that I have been looking at for years but just never pulled the trigger. They just look like something handy to have in the toolbox. I always wondered if they would solder pipe, well, the answer is yes. As you would expect it took a little longer to heat the pipe than using a propane torch but as you can see in my video it did the job. I anticipate using this torch for soldering wire, on heat shrink and maybe even copper pipe in tight spaces. It really is a handy little torch.
