A: Both stained or painted after proper prep.
A: It can be stained or painted, but the quality of the wood is grade B on the "good" side, and the filling of voids and knotholes that should be done to give a smooth surface was so poorly done on the sheets I purchased, that you wouldn't use this where it should present a finished appearance.
A: Stain is not optimal. It will be very blotchy.
A: Some plywood’s can be stained, however stay away from dark stains as they tend to appear splotchy. Middle of the road stains to lighter stains appear more evenly. Plywood without knots will finish much better. Home Depot has a full line of stains to choose. Don’t forget to finish with a quality urethane. Good Luck
A: can stain or paint
A: Yes, but you should use some kind of mold release before you pour your concrete.
A: yes you can use it for that purpose.
A: Not unless you reinforce it. At 1/2 inch it is too flexible.
A: Yes easily.
A: Should be
A: Yes, the plywood is heat treated to cure the glues. If you mean "Pressure Treated" then no, it is not.
A: No. Have not heard of heating plywood.
A: yes
A: all plywood has heat treating during the manufacture, but this is not heat treated like the requirement for building a shipping crate to go over seas, that is a different kind of heat treating.
A: It's plywood, and the cheapest kind made. It uses B and C grade wood, and is made for applications not requiring either strength or beauty,
A: Not sure if it is stamped as such, but see the manufacturer spec sheet. It ststes the plywood Is APA certified, and is rated for EXTERIOR.
A: No, it's indoor only
A: Not only interior for finishing work
A: No, but CDX plywood for that purpose. This is interior rated.
A: the wood at home depot stores will vary from one store to the next, the best thing to do is go to your local store, go to the pros desk, tell them what you need like 11/32 apa rated plywood and then they can show you what they have of that in stock or tell you if it would have to be special ordered,
A: No I don't recommend it
A: No. Too thin. Minimum 3/4 inch is what you need with a robust vapor barrier.
A: I wouldn't recommend that application for this product. The glue used is not water contact rated. If you only expect dampness occasionally, CDX plywood may be ok. Otherwise, they have a basement floor system available with a plastic base. They come in 2' x 2' sections and can be leveled as well.
A: Be sure to put a vapor barrier down as this will absorb moisture that comes through the concrete and this plywood is not moisture resistant in the long run. It is not dimension-ally stable either, are you going to fasten it to the concrete or just lay it down. Mine warp or curled a bit but we screwed ours down to regular wood floor joists. . e.
A: No, this material is not thick enough to be used as subfloor.
A: What kind of tile? Ceramic maybe, for vinyl I would not recommend it as there are possible voids between layers that will telegraph through as you walk on those spots above the voids. Choose an underlayment grade material if using it under vinyl. Underlayment grade specifies no void bigger than 1/8" in the top 2 layers.
A: no you should use 3/4 minimum
A: You can use sanded 7/23" pine plywood common underlayment, which is more rigid and a LOT cheaper. You can find it listed as Store SKU #492930
A: It would but is probably over-kill. If the floor is sound a simple luan would work. If the floor has voids you need 3/4
A: as long as it is not the sub floor
A: Hi, I'm happy to answer your question. Yes, Home depot does cut wood. How ever they do not offer precision cuts, so the tolerance is 1/2 inch to any and all cuts for the dimensions requested. they also only make straight cuts, no angular or scroll cuts Unless other arrangements are made with your local home depot, all cutting requests must be made in store at time of purchase. The amount of free cuts varys by location, please contact your local home depot for more information on their policy. home depots also have tool rental now at many locations, so you may be able to rent a saw to cut the wood your self.
A: Yes, you definitely can. I recently had this exact plywood cut into multiple 48" by 26" pieces. It was no problem, handled quickly and safely AND the cuts were more precise than I expected.
A: It's like pulling teeth to get someone to do it, but yes, they have a cutting station.
A: Yes
A: It depends on the store, but in most cases, yes.
A: Yes, they will cut it to size.
A: Well, it is (close to) 1/2" thick. They can cut a piece 16" by 16" but not plane it to 3/3".
A: Well, provided it is the correct thickness, they should be able to assist you. I had this size plywood cut into 26" lengths by a very helpful and cordial employee. The cuts were surprisingly crisp. However, they were straight cuts across the entire width, so each piece required only one cut each. What you are seeking would require two cuts for each piece. I do not see why they would not be able to accommodate you, but you may wish to take 3 minutes to call ahead of time just to make sure.
A: Most likely. Many Home Depot stores have cutting services. You may have to pay extra for multiple cuts on the same piece of plywood.
A: Home Depot has the saws to make these cuts, make it clear prior to agreeing to purchase that you want 16x16
A: Recommend pressure treated.
A: It is not ideal for wet or damp conditions. Even painted.
A: I suggest you go to HD and ask some of the sales people in the lumber department, I am certain they can best answer your question...(look for the OLD guy)
A: Yes plywood is an exterior rated ... you’ll definitively want to paint or stain both side and all edges. I just used it for Halloween silouette... use care as this plywood is very weak and not too stable... layers are delaminating in areas... I had to add some wood bracing with wood glue and staples to back to prevent the display from bending and cracking
A: this will work fine for out door use.
A: Yes it does
A: Mark, In most cases YES, as the vinyl WILL show (in time) any defects that are in the surface you are covering.
A: There are cheaper solutions. Look at the underpayment sheets.
A: NO ! possible voids in the second layer that will sink if waled on with sharp heals or chair legs pressing in the wrong spot. Use underlayment grade material.
A: Yes
