A: Should be able

A: Yes it can, and it will last, unlike 2 part epoxy. That is what I bought this roll for. Just remember, try to find something plastic to shove it in with, you don’t want to cut the cable skin, with a screwdriver. I’ve done a couple of pools like this. With perfect results

A: If it's going to be submerged it would probably hold for a while but it is best used on clean dry surfaces. Silicone would be a better choice if you let it cure for the full length of time Good luck.

Answer This Question
A: Yes. As long as surface is clean
by|Apr 9, 2021
A: As long as it’s not in direct sun for more than a hour it will be fine. This is for sealing out water and air, however if you are putting on RV, needs to be checked often for drying and cracking. It will stay pliable for a long time. Good product and not expensive. Hope this was helpful for you.

A: Sure, it will even be water tight for quite a while. Remember, just be careful when working with glass, I’d use a pair of leather TIG welding gloves, while handling the glass. It might cost $20 for the gloves, but a lot cheaper than the ER visit, for stitches, or worse.

A: Not really thick enough in my opinion. But theoretically it would work, just need thicker. And I’m not sure about doubling the thickness
by|May 18, 2021
A: For sure, but there are other products made for that, that will be easier to work with.

A: Thanks for your inquiry. The Butyl sealant is 1/2" wide and is recommended for use on all metal-to-metal connections. Conveniently sold in a 50 ft. roll that can easily be cut to length. The sealant adheres to most clean and dry surfaces and does not harden or crack over time providing an effective moisture barrier. Recommended for roof slope of 3/12 pitch or greater.

A: Thank you for your inquiry. Depending on your desired application, if you are wanting to seal an already installed window, no it is not recommended. However, if the intended application is putting it between two faces (installing a new window for instance) then it works. Butyl tape does not have a backer side that doesn’t stick so it can be left exposed.

A: It is designed to stay playable and not to harden, most RV dealerships sale the cheap stuff and over time hardens. This is gray in color if you can deal with that, then yes. Make sure to clean the surface you are working with. Hope this was helpful.

Q:Can this be rolled or stretched thinner or double stacked thicker?

Answer This Question
A: Thanks for your inquiry. Double stacked for thicker application would definitely work, as far as rolling or stretching, the more you manipulate the sealant, the less "sticky" it could become. Good luck with your project.

A: Stretches ez . (Almost too ez) yes..I stacked some double and some triple. Keep peel off paper backing on to keep from stretching to much or off to stretch. Be careful of temperature when working with paper backing off. Can get sticky. Put in refrigerator to cool down to avoid stickiness. You can wet fingers also

A: Yes, there is a backing you will have to take off and flip over. I would not recommend going to thick, if you are using to seal against water, clean surface needed to attach to. Hope this was helpful.

A: It's like a very sticky silly putty. I did overlap to make it wider and in warm weather it seemed to stretch even if it wasn't the desired outcome. I think it's probably going to do what you want it to do. There shouldn't be any reason you couldn't double up to make it thicker.
