Q:How much is needed to cover 300ft area
by|May 7, 2024

Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your inquiry, Aisha. This primed finger jointer quarter round moulding is most commonly used at the base of the floor. To calculate what is needed, you will need to know the linear footage and not the square footage. For example, if you have a 10ft x 10ft room, you would need 40 linear feet of quarter round.

A:  Thank you for your inquiry, Mare. To successfully determine how much quarter round is needed, more measurements would have to be supplied. Q:I was asked by my flooring guy to purchase 90.00 linear feet of quarter round. How many of these will I need to purchase? Thank you,

A:  90 linear feet. These are 8 ft lengths and a carpenter knows how to join them as needed.  90 /8= 11.25 so I would purchase at least 12 of them. 13 if budget allows for mistakes.  You can usually take back unused full pieces.

Q:Is the white finish a semi-gloss or more of matte/satin finish? Wondering what it will look like next to semi gloss base boards and what will look best for touching up the nail holes after installation.

A:  Seems like semigloss. It’s not flat. We painted glossy anyway as they can get some blemishes on them with handling.

A:  Hello EK, thank you for your inquiry. Our DecoSmart Paint has a gloss between 15 and 20 degrees measured using a 60 degree gloss meter. It would likely be considered a Satin finish. For touching up the nail holes they can use our DecoSmart Filler (ST009-00C). Thank you.

A:  Hello KKoz, thank you for your inquiry. The preferred tools for nailing quarter round is an electric finish or brad nailer fitted with 1.1/4" – 2” finish nails. Choose finish nails that are long enough to penetrate the thickness of the quarter round, baseboard and the drywall with enough left over to go at least 1/2 inch into the wall's base plate. We hope this information helps in the completion of your current project.

                      Answer This Question

A:  Hello Stacey, thank you for your inquiry. If you are installing this item at the base of existing baseboard you will need to miter the corners to connect. However, if you are installing new baseboard and quarter round you can use inside and outside base corners to avoid miter cuts. We hope this information helps you complete your current project.
