A:  There is only one sheet per tube. It is beautiful, and as my kitchen window looks out into neighbors living room 20 foot away, I have privacy now when I wash the dishes. (I put it on the outside pane of a garden window) It still lets in sunshine and the colors are vivid.

Q:Will this work on "textured" or "obscured" glass?

            Answer This Question

A:  I think it would work best on a smooth surface. It's basically a sticker.

            by|May 5, 2023

              A:  I wouldn't apply it to a heavy texture.

              by|May 5, 2023

A:  no, I don't believe it will. It has to stick to flat glass.

              by|May 5, 2023

A:  No, Artscape films can only be used on a smooth non-textured surface.

                by|May 5, 2023

A:  The instructions say that it will not adhere to textured glass. In an older house such as ours however, with frosted glass windows in the bathrooms, the "pebbled" side is inside; one could removed the window and install the film on the outer side, provided there is a storm window to keep the film from being exposed to weather.

A:  Can't really say. Mine is on a shady window. But I would be like to asume it would since it controls sun glare.

A:  So far it is working to reduce heat from direct sun on my window

                    by|May 4, 2023

A:  Doesn't control heat, but lets sun in beautifully.

A:  This film does NOT reflect light & or heat as part of its design

                        by|May 4, 2023

A:  Artscape Window Film is primarily decorative, and is not designed to control heat.

A:  I'm not 100% sure about that, but I would think it would be able to be used.

A:  I don't see why not, but easy way to check it out. Get a plastic sticky applicay that you can buy at any dollar store use it to stick to the window first , if they stick so will the window film. Mine has been on for three years now with no problems at all. I did use the recommended spray that they sell with it. Still loving my window.

However, there are reviews that state people can see through the film to the inside at night!! Would people therefore recommend installing this on the OUTside of the window? I am assuming that people have installed on the inside, and if I were to install on the outside, then hopefully no one can see in at night!

A:  This film obscures vision as installed on the inside as directed. You literally have to have your nose against the window to make out any real objects in detail. If absolute privacy is required, then I may chose a different film from this line.

A:  The New Leaf pattern is translucent to some degree in either day time or night.hours. If you hold your hand directly behind the film you will be able to see your hand clearly, the further away you move from the film the more distorted images become. As far as an interior or exterior installation are concerned, both would provide the same level of privacy, an interior application would ensure that the film is not pulled off by anyone looking to peek in.

A:  Artscape films use no adhesives, they stay on the glass via a suction and require a smooth non-textured surface. The crack would allow for air to get in-between the film and glass and could cause the film to fall off the glass so unfortunately Artscape wouldn't work with this type of application.

A:  Plate window glass is extremely dangerous! Be very careful. First of all, Tape over the crack on both sides to help stop it traveling. then tape over the whole sheet of glass, on diagonals [x] corner to corner. Clear packing tape works well. Replacement is necessary. Pretty patterned window film will camouflage the danger of broken glass, but replacement is necessary as soon as possible, sooner if you have children in the home.

A:  As a general rule our color patterns are limited in size to just 24" x 36" but the pattern repeats on each piece so you can match multiple pieces to cover a larger surface area. Some of our non-color patterns do come in a larger 36” x 72” size. If you do try and match multiple pieces the key to concealing the seam is to apply both pieces at the same time, match manufactured edges together and then squeegee from the center of each piece towards the seam.

The film does not shrink so it depends on your skills for lining up piece application. My application was on a large window above a sliding door so my weak skill was not noticeable unless you knew where to look. The patterns are made to align at the edges. You would need to buy one roll for each piece you need to match. For example if you want to cover a 30" x 30" square, you need 2 rolls.

Yes you could piece two together for larger windows just match the pattern like when doing wall paper. They blend together very easily .No seem showing.
