A:  I have never had a problem with these seats. Bring it back to the store or maybe you are putting it on wrong.

A:  There is no question. Just a statement. There should be two bolts and two nuts to hold the brackets to the toilet then the seat fits over the brackets and locks on.

A:  I bought mine over a year ago and the hardware was perfect. I am still using it.

A:  That's too bad, and of course, a packing mistake is always possible! Take the hardware to Home Depot and ask the salesperson to compare it with what is packed with the units in the store. (I hope they'd exchange it for you on the spot). Before you do that, though, consider that you have to push really hard to get the "seat" side to fit down on the "toilet" side BEFORE you turn the "seat" side locking tops. I mean REALLY hard. I didn't, and the seat worked, but other users complained it seemed loose. It was! I finally got the trick but not till a few tries.

This seat features an Easy Clean and Change hinge, and this feature causes you to need to install the seat differently than a traditional style hinge. To install this seat you will need to attach the bolt to the toilet bowl with out the toilet seat. Once the bolt is attached tot he toilet bowl bring your seat over and have the caps to the hinges twisted to the left, place the seat on the bowl and push down on the hinges. The hinges will clip over the heads of the bolts. A:  The hardware is correct. To install this seat, follow these steps: 1. Place hardware, screw and wing nut, supplied with seat through holes in toilet as shown in figure 1.. Do NOT fully tighten at this time. 2. Place seat over mounting hardware as shown in figure 2. 3. Center seat over bowl and then fully tighten wing nuts it to bowl. 4. To secure seat to bowl, rotate seat covers as shown in figure 3. Hope this helps you!

A:  Stinky Smell!!! Also bought elongated seat for condo. Bad order like dried urine in mstrbthrm. Took seat out & the odor disappeared instantly.

A:  This should answer. Measured seat--lid closed--14 across by 16 down. Keep in mind the main thing, after the general dimensions, to worry about is the two holes in the back, which seem to be pretty standard. I'm no handyperson but this was an easy install, even for a first-timer.
