Answer This Question

A:  The size of the toilet bowl vary. I am attaching link to specifications for model 1500EC 000 : https://www.toiletseats.com/for-trade-professionals/shop-products/bemis-elongated-wood-toilet-seat-in-white-with-easy-removability/ please compare the size of the seat with the toilet bowl and check installation video to ensure that hardware included will work with toto toilet. Answer This Question

A:  No problem, we clean ours at least weekly and cleans up very well. Never had any paint come off

      by|Jun 6, 2021

A:  Toilet seats should be cleaned using only mild, soapy water and a soft cloth or sponge. Rinse clean with water and thoroughly dry with a clean cloth. To avoid damaging the finish, do not allow aerosol products, abrasive chemicals or cosmetics (fingernail polish, aftershave, harsh cleansers, etc.) to come in contact with the toilet seat. Do not use bleach, pine oils, essential oils, chlorine, acid, disinfectants, products in aerosol cans, hard brushes, abrasive scouring powders or pads. Harsh chemicals can rub away or corrode paint finishes on toilet seats, metal hinges, and dull plastic seats.

A:  I use wipes all the time and had no issues.

          by|Jun 1, 2021

A:  You can use most common household cleaners to clean the seat. Clorox bleach wipes will work fine and will not remove any paint.

Q:I too had trouble at first with this not locking in place. As it turns out the mfg. advice about turning the knobs to the right to lock it is only effective if you've first made sure the hinges are absolutely flush with the surface of the toilet - at first I was turning the hinge locks to the right but without having them all the way down in place. Once properly positioned, turning to the right was possible, although not as effortless as the video made it look.

A:  Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to learn that you have experienced troubles while installing the seat. In order for bolts to lock inside the hinges the seat needs to be flush with porcelain. Please contact our customer service at 1-888-722-6488 if you have any additional inquiries.

Q:Is this plastic? If not please recommend an elongated plastic Toilet seat

                Answer This Question

A:  The seat is made of wood. Caution: Failures of the seat, cracking, have been caused by the rear of the seat not setting the bowl because there are no rear bumpers, only two toward the front. Poor design? Repeated twisting motion causes the hinges to break. Replacements are not available. Hinges are the weak link in design with the lack of bumper support for the seat.

A:  No, it is painted or coated wood or possibly a composite wood product. I can't help with your wish to locate a plastic seat as I only purchase/use these.

A:  Andrew, thank you for your interest in our products. To identify the correct seat size for your toilet bowl, measure from the center of the mounting holes at the back of the bowl to the outside edge of the rim in front. Based on your measurement, order the appropriate seat – round or elongated – for your bowl. Our seats are designed to fit most manufacturers’ round or elongated bowls, even though there are some specialty sizes. Kindest regards, Bemis Customer Service

                              A:  Bone is darker

                              by|Mar 8, 2021

A:  Lisa, Bone is a very popular alternative for white in bathrooms. It is a step darker than biscuit and reminds you of a classic pair of neutral pumps. Its rich color gives nice depth to your bathroom fixtures. Almond. Its color is as wonderful as its flavor. Opposite of the rich brown exterior, the inside of an almond is a beautiful off-white. With a touch of brown, the neutral color is perfect and a very popular color in the bathroom. Kindest Regards, Bemis Customer Service
