A: Hello lynn Thank you for your contact. We apologize for any trouble or inconvenience in finding information. You would not be able to use 0.80 line with this trimmer/edger. Your trimmer uses .065 inch (1.65 mm) diameter, round nylon line Best Regards Sherri C BLACK + DECKER
A: Never tried it, but I don't think so. If I had a spool of .80 lying around, I might try it, but the spool has a really tight anchor hole for starting the line, and you can just squeeze .65 through it.
A: Attaching the Auxiliary Handle : To attach the handle , press in on the buttons on both sides of the upper housing. Position the handle matching up the grooved side of the handle with the grooved button. Partially push the handle on so that it will hold the buttons in when you release them with your hand. Push the handle completely onto the housing and position it slightly until it “snaps” into place. To adjust the handle up or down, press in on the button and raise or lower the handle. The handle should be adjusted so that your front arm is straight when the trimmer is in the working position
A: Squeeze/adjust the black buttons on the sides while sliding the handles over them.
A: I was an emergency my lanw was to high because of the rain and no sun in the last couple of days. So had to cut I down. Great to tool and enjoy it every second.
A: You can easily buy a replacement part online.
A: If you recently purchased this, Take It Back! It is a piece of junk. I have had nothing but trouble from the day I brought it home.
A: If you're talking about fitting it back on the bottom, it's not much more than holding the tool upside down and lining up the orange tabs to the slots in the spool housing. Squeeze both tabs a little bit and pop it down with the palm of your hand until it locks. If by "replace" you mean it's broken or lost, a Home Depot or Black and Decker rep can easily assist you in getting a replacement cover.
A: On the bottom of the spool there’s a tab on each side, press the tabs in and pull the spool off. Replace the spool with a new .65 spool from Home Depot
A: 9 pounds.
A: light
A: Only guessing...feels like about 8 lbs
A: No
A: No. Your cord will plug into the handle.
A: No. It does NOT come with a power cord. It's a great trimmer but I have to buy a new one almost every year. Doesn't hold up to the punishment. Made with cheap parts.
A: No it does not have a power cord, you use your own extension cord. The unit itself has a male plug built into the handle and you plug your cord into that. It has a small slot that you can slip your cord through and hook it so it stays connected while in use. I use an orange heavy duty extension for mine.
A: No, it does not
A: Yes, you ca rewind string yourself easily.
A: Yes, buy the extra line available through HD. Remove the spool cap, load the line, feed the end into the feeder opening, make sure the line increment clicker is positioned correctly. Once the spool in seated in, replace the cap. You're done! Check the manual, it explains everything.
A: Yes
A: Yes, you can.
A: Yes of course. You can also take line from another spool and attach it.
A: Sorry but I'm not sure as I threw the box away. I would suggest going onto the manufacturer website to find that information.
A: I use it about 2-3 times had problems from begin and then I went out of state is there in my garage some were.
A: I love it but I keep having to buy one over and over.
A: This is not a question. It is a statement. Bring it back to your local Home Depot and they will issue a credit for the purchase cost. Then buy a different trimmer.
A: Should still be under warranty. Take it back.
A: Take it back to the store and they have someone who can show you.
A: There is an orange cover over the spool, squeeze the sides to take it off the trimmer. Place the replacement spool inside and thread the end through the small whole. Snap the orange top back on. It's really simple and quick.
A: There is a plastic cap with 2-tabs under the motor, that you squeeze and the cap comes off. Under the cap is a spring and a spool that holds the line that could be manually rewound or you could buy new spools with pre-wound line.
A: Push the two buttons in to remove the spool cap. Once the cap is removed, make a note of how the existing spool is in there. Replace it the same way with a new spool and run the end of the string through the hole. Place the cap back on and run the trimmer to cut the excess string.
A: The string trimmer can draw up to 6.5 amps at 120 volts. That means it is pulling up to 780 watts. Most ac outlets on autos cannot handle that much power. Check your car manual or if your ac converter plugs into the cigarette lighter check the converter manual. Most ac outlets on autos are for low power devices (electronics) and you will almost certainly blow a fuse ( or worse) in your auto if you attempt to power your string trimmer.
A: Probably not safe. Look near the outlet, it should tell you how many amps it is good for. Then look at your trimmer or it's instruction manual and see how many amps it draws. You would be better off getting a cordless or gas powered trimmer for trimming around a grave.
A: I don't see why not.
A: Probably not, this draws 6.5 amps. Your inverter likely wont support that. I would get a battery-powered trimmer
