A: Thank you for your interest in this Black + Decker iron. With the iron on a flat surface, soleplate down, open the water-fill cover. Tilt the iron slightly. Using a clean measuring cup, pour water into the opening until water reaches the “MAX” level mark on the side of the water tank. Do not overfill. Close the water-fill cover securely. A: From the perspective of the picture above, where the iron is laying flat, pretending to iron . . . . . there is a black plastic "window" just below the temperature dial. the plastic "window" lifts to add water to the iron. Of course, the iron will need to be standing when water is added so the water goes into the iron, and not everywhere else. Good luck!
