Hi BettyB, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company! You can install a new 14, 17 or 17T series trim kit onto your existing valve. However, you must use the existing cartridge assembly in the valve and not the new one included with your new trim kit. Please reach out with further questions! It may not be set into wall far enough causing it to bulge and limit motion. Also be sure you stabilized the handle when you screw it in you shouldn’t have rotated the handle had you screwed it in place. Worse come to worse call a plumber I am no expert just a DIY’er
Hi Thomas, Please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience you are experiencing. We are happy to help! Shower rise is when the water can’t get out of the tub spout as fast as it flows through the valve. This causes the water to back up and come out of the shower head when only the tub spout should flow. There can be one of several reasons for shower rise: 1) The valve could be upside down. 2) The length from the valve to the tub spout is outside of the 8" to 18" rule. 3) There is more than one 90-degree angle elbow. 4) Something other than ½" smooth copper or galvanized pipe was used going to the spout. No push fittings. No "shark-bite" fittings. No cast or drop ear elbows. 5) Something restricting the water flow to the spout, e.g. solder or something lodged in the pipe. Please contact us directly if you have any questions! Best Regards, Bryan Digital Communications Specialist (800) 345-3358 customerservice@deltafaucet.com
Most mixing valves and diverter valve bodies have adjustments on them. Depending on the model number and configuration will determine the process in doing the adjustment. If further help is needed feel free to contact us at #20-616-4054 for assistance.

It is possible the dial on the valve needs to be turned to the hotter setting. If you take the handle off the shower (with tiny hex key), you will see a grey colored dial. It should depress inward the spin left or right. I believe left is hotter, there is tiny writing on the dial to communicate the temperature as well. Good Luck!
I guess, 1) for some reason when you install faucet handle you center the handle in wrong position, try to reconnect the handle and allow 45 degree more to go all the way to hot position, 2) make sure the valve position installed same way like the one working fine, 3) watch some YouTube videos regarding how to install shower faucet and shower valve to correct what’s wrong, those videos very helpful, 4) if nothing work with you call the valve warranty company and ask for replacement, they always good in customer service and they send new valve, this happened with me before, Wishing you all the best and good luck
Yes you can adjust it. You just remove the handle with an allen wrench and then adjust the temperature knob. There's several good videos to show you how. Here's a link to one of them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNSOqivL9EQ To be honest, the hardest part was getting the handle off with the allen wrench. Once that was done it was a breeze.
There is often a mixing control valve on the shower trim kit. Should look like a white plastic sleeve with gears. When you remove handle you should be able to move the gear, usually left, to mix in more hot water.
The MultiChoice® Universal valve trim kits include a rotational limit stop that can be adjusted to change the maximum water temperature. You can increase the maximum temperature by rotating the limit stop counterclockwise. For detailed instructions specific to your trim kit, please refer to the installation instructions that came with it. You can also find installation instructions and other helpful information on the manufacturer's website.
