A: No, I believe you would have to by an adapter from the manufacturer. The diverter, by design, fits snug within the downspout to catch as much water as possible. If it didn't most of the water would run past it and out through the downspout kick out.
A: Yes, it will work, but it is optimized for the smaller 2x3" downspouts. For grater collection efficacy consider upgrading the diverter to our 3x4 size item# (F-RN094). Note, this both diverters install in the narrow 3" side of the downspout so it can be upgraded any time. Regards, the EarthMinded Team.
A: Yes , It works perfect ! One thing to consider mounting the diverter on the narrow side of down spout , but it will work on either side location is up to installer .
A: If the gutter is wider than the diverter, you may not get the barrel to fill as quickly as if it is a good fit. The rain water will run out from the sides of the diverter, instead of into it.
A: Yes. That’s what I have at my house as well. You just drill out a side hole in the gutter instead of in the front of the gutter. That’s what the instructions direct you to do. It’s a darn good rain barrel.
A: We used concrete blocks on a pad of gravel about 6" deep but I appreciate wanting something more decorative. Two cautions. First, the barrel will weigh about 375 pounds when full. The stand needs to hold up the weight. Second, be careful with what the stand is on. Have some sort of pad like pavers or gravel. The total support system (stand and base) needs to be stable. BTW, we like this barrel. In our climate, it needs to be drained and removed for the winter. It is set up for this and easily done.
A: I simply put pavers under it and it works well. It has been installed for over a year and it is doing great!!
A: I used cinder blocks in a pattern of 3 to create the base. It is very stable
A: We recommend a base or stand with a solid top surface rater than a cross bar design. The base should support the entire bottom surface at 18 to 19" diameter. Cement blocks can also be used (4 per layer), with the cored sides facing sideways so the flat sides support the bottom of the barrel. Regards, the EarthMinded Team
A: It is tall and doesn't need a stand. It sits on the floor. If you want a stand, choose something sturdy. When this rain barrel is full it is very, very heavy.
A: I am using the "RTS Home Accents 50 Gal. Rain Barrel Black Stand, Model # 55100002008081 Internet #202403951.
A: This product is 23.5 by 35.5 inches.
A: Top Diameter is 26 inches. Bottom Diameter is 19 inches. Hight is 37 inches. These dimensions are approximate.
A: The barrel is 23.5 inches around (diameter) and 33.5 inches tall.
A: The 45 Gal model is 23.5" diameter at the widest point, and 19" at the base. Its 36" tall with the lid in the domed position and 33.5" with the lid inverted as a planter. The EarthMinded Team

A: Our RainStation rain barrels include a 2x3" diverter which does fit 3x4" but only collects from 50% of the surface area in the downspout, so water collection efficiency is reduced, we do offer a 3x4" diverter upgrade for improved water collection item (F-RN094) Regards, The EarthMinded Team
A: Yes.
A: Yes either side
A: Yes. I suggest looking at the Installation Guide linked off the rain barrel product page. Details of connecting to a 3x4 pipe are in there.
A: Yes
A: I wouldn't recommend it
A: Yes, the rain barrel can be used for potable water.
A: Probably if you filter properly
A: You can bend it, as long as you keep it level.
A: No it comes with flex 1 1/4 " hose expandable . No direct bending as it is flexible .
A: No, in fact, it should never be in front of the downspout, always to the side of it.
A: It does not have to be in front of the downspout. It has a bendable hose that allows it to move around foot and a half.
A: The Flexifit Diverter System comes with a 31" adjustable accordion hose that can be formed into bends and elbows. The barrel has a pair of flats on the back on the left and right side, so you can select which side to drill the entry port. This allows the barrel to placed to the left or right of the downspout while minimizing the hose run. Regards, the EarthMinded Team
A: We have two of these rain barrels and both are connected to the 3" sides of 3"x 4" downspouts.
A: The diverter included is optimized for 2x3" rectangular downspouts but will also work with 3x3 and 3x4 with reduced water capture rates. We offer a 3x4 and round downspout diverters (3 to 4" dia.) as an upgrade that work with all our RainStations and kits. Regards, the EarthMinded Team
A: The most common down spout is 2" x 3". The diverter will fit either that size or larger. Best to use a hole saw to create the opening.
A: Mine is in a 4" works fine
A: 34 Inches tall with the lid inverter in the planter position and about 36 inches in the domed position. Regards, The EarthMinded Team
A: 34" tall with cover
A: The rain barrel is 23.5 inches around (diameter) and 33.5 inches tall.
A: 35.5" tall.
A: 36 inches
A: 5 to 6 inches turned upside down
A: It is actually 5 inches deep enough for lettuce and other leafy vegetables. A plus it is elevated and rabbit and other proof... try it
A: It's not meant to be used for flower planting. The lid is actually convex shaped.
A: I use mine as a planter, it is plenty deep enough for soil but make sure you protect the drain screen from clogging. I used a small amount of gravel stones and that did the trick.
A: The lid is just under 6" deep at the center, it is suitable herbs and annuals. Regards, the EarthMinded Team
