Answer This Question
A: Yes it is naked particle board but I did not buy this for anything other than storage, it is in my laundry room and all of my small appliances are stored there. It actually looks quite nice. The other 2 are in my garage and are also used for storage. The shelves are very sturdy and very durable.

A: Yes, the shelves are not "finished" like the ones I bought a year or so ago. They are somewhat sturdier than the others and the finish appearance does not matter to me. Utility 1st!

A: I put cardboard on he sides of mine and used it for a bookshelf for a while. It would be easy to cut some plywood the size of the space between the shelves and then fasten it on through the holes in the legs. This would work very well.

A: I suppose one would bolt with 1/4" x 2" bolts, nuts, washers 1/4" ply to create a boxy effect.

A: I'm not sure if it does. They are very well made shelves. I ordered mine drove up gave them my confirmation and they loaded them up. The employees at Shenandoah Tx are awesome!!

A: No, they do not come in white; or as least a search on the edsal.com website and other Internet searches did not produce a shelf like this in white. There are other types of shelving in white, but not like this.

A: no it has no plastic feet, it will scar a wood floor

A: You can place this shelving unit on a wood floor. There are molded padded feet provided when you purchase it, but be mindful not to move it over the floor frequently without taking extra caution to not scuff it.

Q:My original paperwork that came with the unit was lost, and after moving I have to reassemble the unit. Where can I get the assembly plan? Maybe someone can take a picture and attach it to the answer? I would be very grateful.

Answer This Question
A: That is easy. First put the bottom long beams in place on the legs, (make sure the legs are placed with the keyhole shaped holes with the rounded part up) start with the long front and back pieces then add the sides. This should make it stand up for you. Use a rubber mallet or use a heavy piece of cardboard or a block of wood to protect the finish if you use a hammer to put it together. Place the first shelf on before you put more of the beams in place. If you want to make the shelves the same distance apart, just count the number of holes in the legs and divide by 5, then place them the same number of holes apart. Put the next 4 beams in place for the next shelf, place the shelf on it and so forth. It is much easier to get the shelves on if you put them in place before adding the next shelf.

Q:I had put in an order that's due to arrive at the store around the 16th, but I'm now realizing that I might want more shelves. Is it possible to order another 1 or 2 shelves? Just the horizontal boards, not the vertical posts/bars.

A: I don't know, but on another order I got a year ago, there was damage and after a phone conversation, they (Edsal) were very cooperative in sending replacement parts quickly. I bet they could help.

Q:Can you install the shelve beams upside down to create a tray shelf?
by|Aug 5, 2017

Answer This Question
A: No, if you install the beams upside down the wood will push against the sides and fall thru or could fall thru. The beams are made with a flat side for the wood to sit on and if installed upside down they are now sitting on a wedge and not a flat so very little if any support.
by|Sep 17, 2019
A: Thank you for your question.
The wood shelf sits in the shelf beams and would fall out if installed upside down.
I hope this helps.

Answer This Question
A: The inside measurement is the size of the particle board shelf - 18" x 36" - the outer measurement is a bit bigger.
