A: I use it for mine.
A: Mine is dead on over the length of the edge, so I'd say it's about as good as you can get short of a machinists square.
A: No or I don't think so. It is degrees only. No minutes or seconds on the square. If you need something that precise, use a 360 degree protractor that shows minutes and seconds. The primary purpose of this square is to get the slope (angle) for your roof angle.

A: Go to empirelevel.com to download the manual
A: Here is a link to a manual, not for this exact square, but the usage is the same. https://2ecffd01e1ab3e9383f0-07db7b9624bbdf022e3b5395236d5cf8.ssl.cf4.rackcdn.com/Product/5e8cb2a2-d911-49f8-aa64-98f37bad4d56.pdf
A: The QR code on it doesn't work even if you did have a scanner on your phone. I just bought this speed square and seen the QR code so I downloaded a QR & bar code scanner just so I could see what the manual said. But when I used the scanner on the QR code it did absolutely nothing! I downloaded 3 different QR scanner apps and none of them did anything when it was scanned it. It was quite a let down! I'd say you'd have to contact the company about it. Bc Home Depot isn't going to do anything about it. Sorry
A: A user manual does not come with the square. However, if you Google "user manual for speed square or rafter square", you will get several results. Most of these results are YouTube videos. I reviewed several of them. With that said, everyone of the videos were really simple and understandable for anyone.
A: Here is the instruction manual. I'm not sure why EmpireLevel doesn't provide a link directly from their website. However, this is the address the QR code loads. http://www.empirelevel.com/manuals/17453.pdf
