Q:Does this product contain "Dolomitic Lime"? I need that ingredient for my tomato plants. If not, can you recommend what to buy for my tomato plant that is having tomato blossom/bud end rot. Thank you

Answer This Question

A:  Blossom end rot is mostly caused by watering. Regular watering is the solution. Also just cut away the rot part and you can enjoy the rest of the tomato.

A:  A specific tomato fertilizer will prevent blossom end rot. It will contain added calcium to prevent blossom end rot. I use Espoma tomato-tone. Garden-tone will not solve your problem. I use it at planting which is best. At this point you might need a liquid calcuim additive fed through the soil or sprayed on the leaves. Good luck. V

                Answer This Question

A:  I use it as a fertilizer during the growth cycle of the plant, around flowering time. I use Biotone, a starter fertilizer, when planting, so garden tone is the following application, usually after I see some growth .

                by|May 12, 2022

A:  Thank you for your question. No, Espoma Garden-tone can be used at the same time.

                  by|May 10, 2022

A:  I always apply the fertilizer to the top surface only and never till it in. Therefore I plant whatever first then aplly it to the top layer and work it in with my hands. I just shuffle it around lightly. Since it is organic it does take longer to break down and feed.

                    by|May 10, 2022

A:  No, not at all. Espoma’s products are all organic. There are no unnatural chemicals added to burn foliage or damage your tender new plants in any way. I use all of their “tone” products. I absolutely love them all. They are a little stinky, but I actually love that natural, earthy smell.   Happy Gardening!

A:  I use Espoma Organic Garden tone for my vegetables. So far no complaints. Just ensure that after you have spread this around plants, there is no fungus formation. Mix the fertilizer well with the soil and plant seedlings.

A:  Thank you for your question. ½ to ¾ tall – is that inches or feet? Our recommendation would change depending upon which it is. If inches in seedling pots, I would recommend Indoor! Or Grow! Liquids. If feet (and likely in the ground or headed into the ground) then I would switch to the granular – Garden-tone.
