Q:I'm tearing my hair out trying to find a 3/4 FIP to 1/2 MIP for potable water. Does this not exist?! WHY?! Should I be looking for something else that is functionally the same, but called something different?

A: For the Everbilt 3/4 in. MIP x 1/2 in. FIP Brass Bushing Fitting, the fitting you want is not a standard fitting, but you can adapt ¾” Male to a ½” female by using a ¾” FIP x ½” FIP reducing coupling and a ½” Close nipple. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-3-4-in-x-1-2-in-FIP-Brass-Reducing-Coupling-Fitting-801919/300096767 & https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-1-2-in-x-Close-MIP-Brass-Nipple-Fitting-802679/207176628

A: "For use with oil, water and air lines". Looks fine to me. Find a plastic bushing otherwise.
A: They do exist, just everyone may not have them. Sometimes, the abbreviations MIP or FIP can be confused with M(ale) or F(emale) I(ron) P(ipe). NPT, which stands for National Pipe Tapered, or Thread, is probably a more conventional term. You would say, 'Male NPT' or 'Female NPT'... or alternately MPT for male or FPT for female fittings. Using these as search terms with the measurements you wanted, I got multiple hits in a web search. Try using these and see if you find the fitting you need. It could be that it is something that is not available right off the shelf and you may have to order. I hope this is helpful, and good luck with your project!

Q:would this allow me to connect a garden hose to my shower arm?
by|Apr 27, 2021

Answer This Question
A: The 3/4 in. MIP x 1/2 in. FIP Brass Bushing Fitting is not for use in this application. You would need to use an adapter that adapts the tapered pipe threads to garden hose thread such as item https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-3-4-in-MHT-x-1-2-in-FIP-Brass-Adapter-Fitting-801729/300096291.
by|Apr 28, 2021
A: Possibly. You will need another adapter that transitions to hose thread as opposed to NPT.

A: if the shower arm is 1/2 a rough thread I don't see any problem as long that it's fit the bushing
to my knowledge, the bushing 3/4 by 1/2 is a rough thread
and the shower arm as soft thread
if I am right I don't see how it's fits

Q:will this work with a standard garden hose
by|Mar 17, 2020

Answer This Question
A: Yes. No extra items needed for a standard hose.
by|Dec 25, 2022
A: This will not work with a garden hose has its own thread standard. To use this fitting with a standard garden hose you would first need to use sku 841278 to adapt the garden hose to pipe thread. We do not have a single fitting that will connect 1”MIP to garden hose.

Q:I’m replacing a cold water only faucet used for a filtered water system. The existing faucet has a 1/4” supply and 1/4” connection at the stop. My new faucet has the usual 3/8” female compression ends hot and cold. I’ll be putting a cap on the hot water side. ( already confirmed ok with faucet mfr) I’m hoping to reduce and connect to 1/4” rather than replace the stop. Can i use this fitting to reduce the 3/8” compression cold faucet supply to 1/4”? If not what fitting do i need?

A: No, this fitting is threaded to pipe thread standards and not compression thread standards and the 2 systems are not compatible with each other. We do not currently make an adapter that will work for your situation. We would recommend changing the supply valve to one with a 3/8” outlet as this will be the simplest solution.
