A: A pair of bolt cutters will work quickly. Hacksaw is slow. Or hammer and chisel. When I have had none of above I have drilled holes in the lock until it broke.

A: Once the hasp is installed you would need to use a lock to keep it secure as the eye does not rotate. The Latch Post Safety Hasp has an eye that rotates.

A: Could I use longer screws with anchors to keep someone out long enough so it make a lot of noise
by|Jul 5, 2023
A: It won't keep out anyone who doesn't mind ripping the hasp out of the door. Hollow core doors have very thin and fragile luan as an outside skin of the door. I would be able to pull these screws out of that with a small pry bar like a screw diver or dinner knife. The only security this would provide would be that if broken into would leave tale-tail signs of the tresspassing. Anyone who didn't want you to know they'd gone into your room would be discouraged from breking the hasp away.

A: They are about 3/4" long

A: You would need to use #8-32 flat head machine screws and corresponding #8-32 nuts. The length of screw would be varied from thickness of cabinet.
