A:  hello, our 4" PVC to 4" PVC coupling can be used either horizontally or vertically indoors or outdoors. It does not have to be shielded unless you want it to be, that is your discretion.

A:  Hello, Thank you for your interest in our products. Unfortunately, this coupling is not meant to plug holes only butt up pipe for sewer drain waste. We would recommend the FPW3132CS fiberglass power wrap to plug that size of hole.
