Q:Why does this need a water hookup

    Answer This Question

A:  Hello Oflamb! Thanks for reaching out! No, you don't need a water connection for a chest freezer. However, since this is manual defrost, the defrost drain provides a method of draining the water during defrosting and cleaning. Place a shallow pan beneath the drain outlet to collect water. Check the pan occasionally so water does not overflow. Replace the drain plugs once defrosting is completed. A:  I was just on with Frigidaire customer support and they said it WAS garage ready. The earlier reply here from FrigidaireSupport says not, but the same model on Lowe's site says Garage Ready in the description. Makes that two votes for yes, one vote for no
