Q:Can home flex be installed in ground?

A:  CSST is primarily made for indoor use. However, it can be used outdoors/underground if placed in a watertight non-metallic conduit that is at least 1/2" larger ID than the OD of the CSST. Check out full details in our Design & Installation Manual at homeflex.com/resources.

    A:  Yellow CSST should ALWAYS be bonded using a 6g or heavier copper wire terminating at the electrical panel grounding buss bar.

      Q:Plan to use this CSST to T tap into my front yard gas meter then I’ll run it into my attic then outside in my backyard where my portable generator located. From there I’ll cover both end of this CSST hose with a PVC or conduit from weather. Is it ok?

      A:  Hi, Zdosse935 - CSST is not to be used for direct underground burial. We suggest you evaluate HOME-FLEX Underground product that may meet your needs better.         A:  Hi, Jon - No, not directly. It must be in a watertight, non-metallic conduit (such as a PVC pipe) that is at least 1/2" larger ID than the OD of the CSST.           A:  Hi, Timmy - Per the specs on the hd.com webpage, max working pressure is 25 psi, well above normal pressures of 1/4 psi (NG) and 1/2 psi (LP). Thanks.

            A:  Hi, Mike - If the stove is movable, no. You must use a certified gas appliance connector. If the stove in not movable (like an in-counter gas cooktop), CSST may be hooked up directly to it.

              A:  Hi, Bill - Yes, but the yellow shield will break down over time if is continuously exposed to the elements. Also, you'll want to make sure it's protected against crush for the short time it's likely to be on the ground. You can do that with a run of schedule 40 or 80 pipe.
