                  A:  Yes. The shelf gives added side to side stability. The shelf is fairly narrow and doesn’t interfere with sitting at the desk.

                              Q:A previous Question asked if back side is finished. The Answer stated the back is fully finished. The back panel has multiple visible screw holes surface is not same wood type as the top and sides. Why was this described incorrectly?

                              A:  No, the back panel for the drawers is NOT fully finished with a different wood grain. I applied a semi gloss lacquer to match the other wood surfaces. There are nine (9) visible screw holes. It now looks good in my opinion.
