Answer This Question
A: Probably not. 3 way switches have a common connection and two traveler connections one of which is live in either switch position. Before you remove the old switch look at it carefully. Usually the common contact is black. The other two traveler contacts are usually brass. . If that is how your switch is then it is the wire on the black screw that is the most important. It may also be labeled on the body as common or Com. Make a note of the wire color on this screw. Often it will be the black wire. Then after disconnecting the power remove this wire and connect it to the common connection on the new switch. Then move the other two wires. Their order does not matter.

Answer This Question
A: It is a glossy finish...you can use a green soft scrubber to make the finish matte...test it on a less expensive cover to see if it works for you...we did this for my son's condo and it looks good.

Answer This Question
A: If you have both black and white wires, you should be able to use virtually any switch. If you want to use a dimmer, it should be compatible with the light type (LED, Incandescent, etc.).
