Q:If I paint my countertops with Modern Master metallic paint, will this seal the countertop enough? I know the Modern Master metallic paint says not to use on countertops. But I'm hoping this will seal it enough that I am able to use it.

A:  Happy to clear things up! Rust-Oleum Modern Masters MasterClear Water-Based Protective Topcoat is also not suitable for use on countertops. At this time, we cannot recommend any of our Modern Masters products for use on countertops and cannot guarantee lasting results. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3

        Q:We recently had rustic pine cabinets. The cabinet maker used a sanding sealer and then sprayed a crystallized shellac coating that you cannot see and it appears that it will not protect the cabinets. After light sanding, can this product be used??

We do not recommend it for use over other coatings.
