Q:I see that the recommeded door casing is 4". I cannot seem to find anyone who is selling 4". It is either 3 1/2" or 4 1/2". Which one is recommended? And is this the recommendation for a 32" door and 36" door? Thank you

Answer This Question
A: Hey ThisOldHouse,
4 inches is just the average. It is a personal preference as to which you like. I would think the 3-1/2 for the 32" and the 4-1/2 for the 36". But as I said, it is up to you.
