A:  You are looking for a 4 foot 32W T8 3500K (Neutral White) Fluorescent bulb.

A:  This bulb will fit in the same socket - but this bulb is a 5000K daylight color temperature where your reference Sylvania bulb is a 3000K bright white. If you are looking to replace with the same color temperature please see www.homedepot.com/p/303810806 for the 3000K 4 foot T8 bulb.

A:  Yes - this is also an F32T8 lamp. Just note that your reference lamp is 3500K (Neutral White) where this lamp is a 4100K (Cool white).

A:  This is a 5000K color temperature where your reference lamp is a 4100K cool white. It will fit the same socket but be a diferent color temperature. The 5000K will be a slightly cooler/blue/crisper color than the 4100K cool white

A:  No - a 32w T8 lamp would not be compatible with the ballast in fixture that runs the 40w T12 lamp.

A:  to check if the ballast is failing you can place known working bulbs into the fixture. If these bulbs do not operate correctly it is an indication that there is a problem with the ballast.
