A:  Yes, this product is compatible with Weber 18" Jumbo Joe Charcoal Grill.

A:  My guess is you need to use their wire mesh screen to hold the charcoal. It lets more air get to the charcoal. When I fill my screen to the top and add 3 pieces of wood, I get to 850F.

A:  I placed the charcoal around the entire permiter of the grill. Once the charcoal is fully lit we placed the pizza stone on the frame to preheat. Then we added three wood chunks to the top of the charcoal 10 minutes before we start baking. The temperature registered between 750 - 775. You have to really keep an eye on it so they don't burn.

A:  I just used the coals and placed around the mesh as directed, and I had no issue at all. I used Match Light coals and in less than 20 minutes, the fire was super hot.

A:  Charcoal alone did not get it hot enough for me either. I am using half the charcoal and adding heavy hardwood kindling, ash or oak. Nothing fancy. It buried the thermometer and peeled the paint on the inside of the grill.

A:  Add more charcoal.....fill it up to the top edge of the charcoal screen at all sides. You shouldn't have a problem getting it up to 700-800 degrees. Just takes a lot of charcoal
