Q:Can this be used to wrap a square post or is it made for round only?
by|Jan 17, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  Yes, Pole-Wrap is flexible paneling. Our 16 inch wide Wrap models are the right size for this standard 4x4 square post application. If you require crown and/or base trim, this can be easily made from straight moulding of your choice available at your local lumber store. Use a miter box to make 45 degree cuts and frame the floor and ceiling around your Pole-Wrap post. Attach this trim with construction adhesive or finishing nails. Surface finish with paint, stain or just two coats of clear polyurethane to match your decor.

    Q:Can this be used outdoors?
    by|Nov 17, 2023
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  Pole-Wrap can be used for outdoor applications. But, like any other wood product, you must first carefully caulk around the edges and apply an oil based primer. You can then use either oil based or latex paint for your finishing coat(s). Be sure to use all exterior grade products to adequately protect the wood from weather. If you prefer a clear finish to show off the rich wood grain, use clear caulking and simply apply a couple coats of an oil based polyurethane or marine varnish.

      Answer This Question

A:  Yes, you can use Pole-Wrap as a backsplash application in the kitchen if you carefully caulk and paint seal with an oil based polyurethane product. We recommend Minwax clear semi gloss. A quality brand polyurethane for caulking works best too.

Q:Can this be put on a ceiling?
                by|Jul 29, 2023
                1 Answer
                Answer This Question

A:  Pole-Wrap can be applied to a ceiling. However, because the product is a flexible paneling, it will need to be supported in many places while the adhesive is setting to insure even contact with the flat ceiling surface. You may want to consider using a pin nailer.
