A: Hey Kerri, the plant will continue to throw new shoots and re-fruit. It is generally a two month process.

A: If you feed the plant, another pineapple will develop in 6-8 months. If you want to propagate another plant, you can cut off the greens from the pineapple with a little bit of the fruit and put that in some dirt.

A: Hey there,
We are sorry to hear that, but, some we have some good news, the pineapple is regenerative. More ornamental pineapple fruits will come from the shoots of the original plant. Q:could u explain what a pup is and what u should expect

Answer This Question
A: Hey Madison, thanks for reaching out. A "pup" or "shoot" is the new growth that comes out holding the leaves and the eventual "Pineapple fruit". To explain further, the original plant will die off, but before this, it will shoot out a new growth which will take its place. Hope this helps, if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to us! Happy Growing - PBF

Q:The link provided for my earlier question only noted the fruit is red and said nothing about the leaves being red. My entire plant is red but the picture above notes the plant is green. What variety did I get that is not pictured on the home depot website? Dark burgundy red spiney leaves.
