A: Hi Jeepers, Thanks for your interest in the RYOBI 16 in. 13 Amp Electric Chainsaw RY43155. You may still have pressure in the tank after shutting off the saw. To help, you can loosen the cap on the oiler to release this pressure, or you can only use the amount of oil that is needed for the job. I hope this helps. If you need further assistance with this question, please contact RYOBI Customer Support directly at 1-800-525-2579, Monday thru Friday 9am to 6pm EST and follow the prompts for Technical Support. Thanks for reaching out to us. - Eve

Q:About that cord... Has anyone noticed the discrepancy between the recommended extension cord (100' 16/3) in the "Frequently Bought Together" section of the product page and this bit from the manual: " A wire gauge size (A.W.G.) of at least 14 is recommended for an extension cord 50 feet or less in length. A cord exceeding 100 feet is not recommended" ?

Answer This Question
A: For the 13 amp motor choose the 14 A.W.G. cord as recommended in the manual. If you have a 12 .A.W.G. cord, that's even better.

A: Hi Zoneranger, I apologize that you are finding a discrepancy in the cord gauges that are recommended for the RYOBI 16 in. 13 Amp Electric Chainsaw RY43155. When using an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy enough to carry the current your product will draw. A wire gauge size (A.W.G.) of at least 14 is recommended for an extension cord 50 feet or less in length. A cord
sure to use one heavy enough to carry the exceeding 100 feet is not recommended. If in doubt, use the next heavier gauge. The smaller the gauge number, the heavier the cord. An undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage resulting in loss of power and overheating. I hope this information helps and thanks for reaching out to us! - Eve

A: Correct answers from both RYOBIOutdoors and JoeTech. The really problem is this website is doing a bad job of making recommendations. It's apparently relying on the poor choices of other shoppers to recommend unsafe combinations. Answers here in Q&A don't fix that. Home Depot's e-commerce team must adjust their system either suggest safe combinations or manually black-list bad ones.

Answer This Question
A: You can get the Oregon brand 16" chain at Home Depot. If you do a little shopping around, that seems to be a fairly common replacement brand and is in stock at most of the Home Depot stores. If your chain just needs to be sharpened, many smaller hardware stores can sharpen your chain for you, saving you from replacing it right away.
