A:  Hello, Bmos - Thank you for your question. These tips only work in drains up to 2 in. wide. If your drain of smaller than 2 inches then there is no way to fit the tips in the drain. A:  Return them. I made the same mistake.  They won’t connect properly.  Worst part is there’s no “4-pack” accessory bundle for the 4002 so you’ll pay more to get additional tips.

A:  The side cutter is the only bit of the 4 that does not work well in drains that are 1 1/2 in. ID drain pipe. It absolutely will not make any turns because the bit is too long and gets caught trying to make the turn. If it gets stuck you may have trouble removing it from the pipe. The coupling on the drain cleaner auger makes the problem worse because it creates an even longer section of inflexible snake. Although it is nice to have a quick bit change out feature you have to sacrifice some flexibility at the end of the snake.
