Q:What is the AC amperage/Wattage draw when the unit is charging a battery?

Answer This Question

A:  If max input is 60 watts @120v AC, then the standalone 40v DC theoretical output is 1.5 Ah and 18v DC @ 6-2/3 Ah. So a 2 Ah 40v batt at least 1:20 hr:min to charge while a 6 Ah 18v batt < 1 hr. But charger burns energy & multi-batt load increase time.

by|Feb 26, 2023

A:  If AC voltage and current are in phase, the current draw for a 60 watt load is 1/2 amp. (120v x 1/2 amp = 60 watts) The actual wattage may depend on on the rate of battery charge and the current regulation of the charger.

A:  The charger says 120v and 60w, so using watt's law that would be 2a Don't you just love Ryobi's support?

A:  I usually remove the battery once it’s fully charged. If you happen to forget and it stays on the machine overnight, no harm is done. The machine will turn off once the battery is fully charged.
