A: Thank you for your interest in our products! The Rubbermaid 9 in. White Twin Track Bracket for Wire Shelving will need the Rubbermaid uprights in order to hang the laminate shelves. For the uprights a 3" screw is recommended.

A: Keep in mind that these screws are only needed to keep the shelf from sliding off of the bracket, they do not actually support any weight. Any screws of #6 or #8 will suffice. You musy only make sure that they are not long enough to penetrate the top surface of the shelf yet long enough to bite into the shelf. I suggest that you take the bracket with you when you go to buy the screws. Stick the screw through the hole in the bracket and note how far in extends above the shelf platform' 1/4' to 3/8" should be sufficient.

A: You can use them with any shelving you wish. My shelves happen to be 1.5" pine.

A: I used these with 1x12 pine boards and they worked just fine. They have holes through them you can run a screw up through to hold the shelf in place.

A: You could use wood shelves as well. Nothing attaches to the bracket as far as the shelf is involved. You would have to have the track for the bracket to be placed into though.
The plus in having the laminate shelves is the ease of cleaning.

A: Yes as long as you anchor them with a screw from underneath.

Q:My shelf is 11.25 would a 9" bracket be ok?

Answer This Question
A: Yes and no.
Yes it will be fine more or less, but no if you’re seeking perfection. If you look at the ‘tip’ of this shelf bracket it has a little notch that protrudes up - this is to help hold a shelf from sliding away from the back of the wall/ or your shelf rail. In other words, a 9 inch bracket is designed to hold a shelf that is 8 +/- inches. If your shelf is 11.25 it will protrude beyond the tip of the bracket, sitting on top of this little notch and subsequently be slightly out of level- it will be tipping back toward your back wall. This also means you’re shelf is subject to tipping over forward and falling off of bracket if you happened to stack a bunch of heavy items in that 2 inch area of shelf protruding beyond the bracket tip. If you understand all of this and are still OK with those conditions, then yes a 9 inch bracket would be ‘OK‘. Hope this helps:)

A: Since the bracket no longer has a lip on the end, yes this would be fine for a 11.25 inch shelf as long as you screw it to the the shelf.

Q:How can a 9 inch deep bracket hold a 10 inch wide shelf?

Answer This Question
A: I have used several of these brackets for 10" shelves and they work very well. The brackets do not have raised lips at the end to grip the outer edge of the shelf; they are smooth and can be used to support shelves deeper than 9". Also, each bracket has two slots on its underside allowing you to place two screws up into the shelf thus holding it securely. Hope this helps.

A: The shelf overhangs the bracket. The bracket is safely screwed into the shelf at the narrow end.

Q:What are the actual dimensions of this product. I expect that it is more than 9" in length because part of it projects inside the supporting track. Then again, it might actually be 9" total length. Also, what is the dimension top to bottom where it touches the track? These are such basic aspects of its dimensions, that your claim to have provided specifications is totally false. I would also like to know where the slot for a screw is located .

A: Tip-to-tip, the bracket is 9.5". That extra .5" fits inside the track. The bracket is 2" high where it meets the track. Measuring from the track, there is a screw hole at 2.5" and a screw slot centered on 6.25".

A: We have some of these. The nine inch measurement is from the portion of the bracket that is under the shelf, and showing when installed. The nine inch measurement doesn't include the teeth that go into the track.

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for your interest in our products. You will need to secure the shelf to the 9 in. D White Twin Track Bracket to prevent sliding. The bracket has a space on the bottom which allows for a screw to secure the wood shelves to the bracket. The screw length would need to be approximately 3.5".
by|May 5, 2023
A: Insert screws through the slots in the bracket from underneath.
