Answer This Question
A: Thank you for reaching out! Our Rust-Oleum Specialty Glitter Spray Paint may be applied directly to glass. Prior to painting, the surface should be thoroughly cleaned and allowed to completely dry. Thoroughly shake the can prior to each use to ensure an even spray pattern, and be sure to clear the nozzle after each use by spraying for several seconds with the can upside down. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2

Q:Can I top coat with a lacquer or nitrocellulose lacquer?

A: I have sprayed over this type of metallic before with lacquer Karl. I was making a gold top. The only thing I noticed was it darkened the gold slightly, until it dried. I'm sure after a lacquer sealer, leveling coats, ect.... you should be able to polish it without any issues.
by|Sep 7, 2021
A: Good question Karl! We recommend clear coating Rust-Oleum Specialty Glitter Spray Paint with Rust-Oleum Specialty Glitter Clear Sealer, which is designed specifically to clear coat our Glitter. Our concern with a lacquer is the solvents may damage or change the finish. The only thing we can recommend would be testing for compatibility prior to application.
